I mentioned in several threads about adapting the MR2 scoops but always seemed to get ignored as if I don't exist. Hope you get better responses.
Well i have modified every panel on my car so i dont see it as impossible i like idea of cutting down rather than building up of the base. I am interested in how much work is required before i start another project. I am wondering if the MR2 roof is higher from the trunklid than a fiero.

Just so you know those twin over the roof scoops push air into vents that are designed to let heat out. This disrupts the flow of air into and out of and under the car when driving at speed, and limits the flow of heat out while stopped in traffic.

Yup, that could be a problem. They were designed for the 84's with vent in the decklid. I found mine (used) on eBay.
nice looking fiero. Fierosound. I like the look of the scoops i just have issues with how they would effect cooling though a nice hood scoop or vent added in would solve that issue on later year fieros. Just wanted to clear that up and avoid any possible misunderstandings. I also wanted to avoid any accusations of scoop hate

i made myself a set that came out ok. they're part of a long term project (read as... takes me forever to do anything) so having them both hooked up to my duke intake is as far as i got.
if i catch a day with no snow on the car i'll take a few pics of where i stopped with them.

Yes did ask for no talk about the functionality of them as no point getting into discussion as there are many ways around it. EG: another functional extractor hood scoop mounted on decklid. I also sold toyota new for years and are aware of their problems also. I am claiming i am only doing it for looks to save arguing with anyone. Pointless as many will argue so are all scoops as all cars function fine without them.

Their not useless, just different and require a few other modifications. Sorry about missing that part of the post australian.
appology accepted i just know how in depth it has got on those past threads i just want to know who sells them.
The idea i have with mr2 scoops is to cut them down glass one side only so gap on one side and get custom grills made for the gaps. Would be little work i just need to measure how far up and over the rear quarter windows they go as they dont go over roof but over rear windows.
I don't see why that wouldn't work the on the fastback it might be more difficult due to the slope on the sides but on a notchie i would think it would be fine, just patience and a butload of sandpaper

The ones im looking at actually dont go over the roof but over the quarter windows of the mr2 i think i perhaps should buy Mr2 scoops as the fiero ones look rather lousy in comparison and fibreglass them to fit and buying a custom aircon alum grill to glass next to each as they are narrower and will allow room. I may try and buy some out just of the mould if i cant get used and no where near finished to save money and make them myself most fiberglassers are happy to sell them like this i bought my fender flares like this to save money as it is fast money for them.

I am not sure of anyone making anything new for the fiero anymore the market has gone alot quieter since i bought my fiero. Besides looks the best part about the MR2 mod idea is the fact you dont need to take the car off the road. Your not driving around with an unfinished project as you only install it when painted and complete. Once built it installs in minutes.
Sounds like a plan just mod them so they flow with the body and it It should work fine i think it will look better then the regular fiero over the roof style, and you'd still have room for a vent.just one of those don't rush it projects, and i agree the aftermarket has been a bit quieter for the fiero. Then again its a cult car and supported by cottage industry. If it became more desirable, and a majority of the non running fiero's were bought by outsiders to fix up mught help with the aftermarket. I'll be doing some mods to a set of gt ground fx in the spring hopefully my fiberglass skills are up to the task.

I have pontiac GTO ground effects on my car and it looks far more aggressive I did it before my widebody i will hopefully take new pics this weekend of my car back together with the new wider rear finished. You can get an idea from my sig what ground effects alone will look like as i am sure i have some pics withthe ground effects without the flare kit. http://www.wedriveexcitement.com
P.S If you modify your ground effects you may need to modify your doors to blend them in. This was the hardest part of my build making the doors flow with the ground effects.

Nice work, i can see how those Toyota scoops would flow with those mods nicely as for my ground Fx its nothing that aggressive. I just want to add some curvature to the bottoms similar to the red car on ausfieros website for the 2.1's, and maybe a slight indentation and falre at the rear.

here are what i've been experimenting with for a while. i've never been good with pics but i think they're clear enough
the vents along the back are open to the engine compartment. the matching one in the middle is for more open area since i kind of closed off the side vents ('87 coupe, '84 trunk lid)
the top openings lead down though tubes to canisters that hold air filters and are routed to the old cut down duke snorkle (maybe should have took an under deck pic too). hopefully the canisters aren't too big that if i can get a bigger engine in it'll all fit under there.
edit to add that the lights were more to give the top scoops a better overall shape and weren't part of the original opening. i didn't block part of the opening for the sake of the lights.
