For those looking to have their steering wheels recovered I found a site that might be able to help. http://www.american-stitche...ches/Pages/main.html Edit: I found a better place so I used that one instead. Here is a quote from their website.
quote
Our motto is "Any Steering Wheel ... Any Color". All of our work utilizes the highest quality of genuine leather and expert craftsmanship. Each steering wheel is meticulously hand-sewn and crafted to provide a level of luxury that is unmatched. Since 1991, we have developed an exclusive process of leather-covering steering wheels that results in a luxurious steering wheel, covered in genuine leather, that meets or exceeds factory-original quality.

I guess one can always pick up another cheap junker steering wheel while they wait for theirs to get recovered. If the above link doesn't work try this one http://www.american-stitches.com/

Why do they have all that info (even packing directions) and SKIP the one thing EVERYBODY WILL ASK - How Much ? Not even a "call us for a custom quote". All i can think is that their prices are so high they don't mention them because they would scare people away / no one would have interest. So if people call, they can "adjust" their prices by the amount of work they have (so the price you pay today, might not be the price you pay later, OR more or less than someone else for the same job). Usually not worth the hassle ....

$250 + $15 shipping for the 4-spoke (horn paddled one). Just had mine shipped back to me from them about a week or two ago, I'm sure that the price would be the same for the other wheel styles. Of coarse that was for turning a vinyl wheel into leather wheel which drove the cost up, im sure. But they do do a very good job and it was probably the same cost of getting a new leather wheel If they made that style in leather still. it looks very stock which I wanted and probably couldn't tell, if I didn't know I sent it off to them

They have a "Contact us" link on their page if you have questions.
Back when I was deciding on if I wanted to send the steering wheel to them I tried contacting them through e-mail i think three times asking for a price quote and got no answer, so try calling them instead of e-mailing them. other than that I would say its a great place to do buisness with and If I ever need a steering wheel done again I'll send it to them
there was another problem but it was not because of them, it was the shipping company. They send it DHL and for some reason DHL said my address "does not exist" and would not ship the package and was stuck in Santa Maria, CA for three days before being sent back to sender. American Stitches resent the package and again it got stuck in Santa Maria for another three days. Long story short had a little talk with the supervisor in Santa Maria over the phone got my package delivered and got the driver that was suppose to deliver the package (which I suspect did not even attempt to find the address) fired.
