What's annoying to me is that the "1988" version doesn't have the updated suspension and brakes like the real cars. I know, that's too much to ask for. I had to scratch build the suspension...

All except the 85 GT are 1:25th scale, the 85 GT is 1:24th scale.
The 88 GT kits, aside from the wrong brake and suspension, are molded in a real nice white plastic that's easy to work with. The fastback kits also include an iron duke engine in addition to the V6, if you want to throw that iron duke in an 85 GT kit and make it into an Indy.
The white racecar kit is molded in silver, and includes a hump-type decklid. It also has the rear window and windshield molded in clear plastic, unlike the red 84 kit which uses smoked plastic for the windows.
How hard can it be to choptop a itsy bitsy plastic car from a box?
Funny how life intruded on my attempt to put this model together...In 21 years got married a couple of times, had a kid, couple divorces...and never completed my model.
It's getting there, but still needs paint. Where is Mark the paint guy when you need him??
