I guess I am first to post pics from the show. My (Gay) orange Fiero has been invited to be displayed in the "Invitational Display" with 13 other cars, so we are out here a day early checking out things "behind the scenes". Here are some teaser pics of the show. Dave

My brother plans to show his IndyCycle again this year. It's been about five years since he last displayed it. He is a high school teacher and a team of students just built an electric vehicle for a national competition (i can't find the link) here's another mention of his vehicle on this web page. If you see him say hello!

here is what you do in Carlisle when it pours rain all day. I believe we stared drinking beer at 9:30am at the bowling alley. Then switched to harder stuff at 11am. (we are on vacation, so it is permitted), had lunch at Applebee's and then shot some pool. Then more bowling and dinner again at Applebee's. Today, we'll hit the car show. Dave

Today was the first time I was at the import/replicar nationals in about 7 years. It was somewhat less impressive than I remembered. But I had a good time, scored some IMSA side scoops and a new taillight lens, and met Chris Hahn in person, who lives probably less than 10 miles away from me. bmwguru, congrats on you invitation, your car is definitely a work of art. Take a look at the last picture. Never in a million years would have thought I would see an RX-7 quite like that. I had to do a double take. Here's some pics:

Does anybody remember who had the B&M shifter in the factory console? I believe it was a "Hammer" or something like that. How'd you do that?
The Fiero with the B&M shifter was the silver convertable GT, it has a northstar engine too! There hasnt been any pics posted of it yet. I will post a pic of it in a couple minutes

The B&M shifter is in the pic under my post. It's the pic before or after the northstar engine pic. I think it was the only convertible there and the only one with a northstar too. Saxman knows the guy, I think. He was at one of the meeting down towards Maryland.
I think MAFOA should reconsider spreading out the cars so much in the near future. Doesn't make sense to me. Even the year before had room to have all of the Fieros closer together. I was in the work in progress section near the fence and it was lonely there, I don't know why they do that. There was more than enough room to join the rest of the Fieros where all the action was.

I seen the picture of the interior of the convertable and the N*. What I was talking about is the fact that noone posted a picture of the whole convertable car. For anyone who hasnt seen it, it really is a sweet looking car!!! I was at the show, had my car in the show - mine is the silver GT with the TPI V8, parked right beside convertable N* car.
Here is a picture of the convertable car:

Seems like the cost of gas is keeping alot of people from making trips to the big car shows, as it happened to the Daytona show as well this year. I wonder how it will affect the 25th show?

I would agree that the exhorbitant price of gas played a heavy part in the attendence being down. Let us also remember that the economy has also taken a severe downturn. Put these two factors together and it made for a smaller show, still larger than most but smaller than in the past. For the first time I didn't have my Fiero with me ( it will be there next year) but some of the "regular" long time folks that I've seen at the show over the years also weren't there. For a regional show that draws from a wide geographic area the economy and gas prices had to be the main causes as this show had almost 200 Fieros there just a few years ago. In the past we had people coming from Canada, the Midwest, the Northeast and the MidAtlantic. It seemed that Fieros at Carlisle was primarily a mid Atlantic event this year.

Wow, that car has sure changed, except for the rims.

Yeah - the 'vert belongs to Tony, formerly "lowfieroGT" - AKA "PCTECH" - AKA "RustyFormula." He also brought the T-top Formula that won a trophy as I was departing. He gave me a free hood last month and even offered up a N* for me to drive up for him. Nice cars. I didn't know he owned a Formula. The 'vert's N* looks like it belongs there.
Look for the next issue of Domestic Driver out in a week or so. There will be a few pages dedicated to Carlisle - and it's FREE! Bmwguru's GOF/DIC Fiero will be a feature in this or the next issue. His car looks outstanding. We need a shot of Joey flippin' us all of through the windshield of that one!
Nice to meet those of you I did. Great to see some of the guys/gals I've met before. I'll be waiting for the chance to actually get drunk with Dave and "Josephine" ( - the guru family) soon! We'll plan a MD get-together some time soon.

Before Tony owned it, mrfiero owned it...and before that, it was owned by the builder, Chris Moore from Indiana, the guy that put on the Auburn shows. Some of you might remember it when it was a "brandywine" color, before Tony painted it.

I knew that car looked familiar. Chris gave me a ride in it years ago when he owned it. I kinda miss the brandywine paint. A "House of Kolors" multiple stage paint job if I remember right....
