As a grand finale for the 07 driving season...

3 Days Long weekend
2 Nights in Motels
2100 KM (1,304 Miles)
2 Provinces
173 Liters 87 Octane petrol @ ~ $1.054 a liter
2 People
1 T-Top 86 Fiero SE...

http://www.routedesphares.qc.ca/

Words can not describe the magnificent views of an autumn road trip around the Quebec Gaspé Peninsula.
The huge blue water bodies, the multicolor mountains and curving roads.
So, I'll let these images do the work

Enjoy...

~ DAY 1 ~

At the New Brunswick cross point where the real trip began.

Legal New Brunswick Highway speed

And hazards (That is realistic scale for a Fiero)

~ DAY 2 ~

After a nights sleep, finally at the southern shore of the peninsula

Some fishing boats are out of the water for the season

1st Lighthouse (It's actually a house)

2nd

The amazing Rocher Percé - (French rocher Percé, "pierced rock") is one of the largest and most spectacular natural arches in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perc%C3%A9_Rock

At the village of Percé

The Museum of Gaspesie at the town of Gaspé, landing region of Jacques Cartier, where he planted a 10m wooden cross upon his arrival.
(The cross in the pic is a replica, since the original cross was never found)
http://www.museedelagaspesie.ca/french/index.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Cartier

Rocher Percé from a distance

3rd Lighthouse

At dusk of the 2nd day we reached the tip of the St. Lawrence River

~ DAY 3 ~

The road we followed, the 132 goes around the peninsula.

Parc éolien at Cap Chat - holds 76 wind turbines
http://www.hydroquebec.com/...e/parcs_eoliens.html
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_%C3%A9olien

The 132 down the St. Lawrence, mountains to your left and water to your right

Lighthouses along the river as it narrows down towards Québec City.

4th

5th

6th

7th

End of the 3rd day at the marine city of Rimouski, back to HWY 20 West to Montreal.
http://www.ville.rimouski.qc.ca/index.asp

Out of the 17 Lighthouses along route 132 we saw 10 (some not in pics).
A small price to pay when doing a road trip of "Flash tourism" but we were there mainly for the road, the experience, and an awesome drive in the Fiero

If you visit the region, this is one trip you want to put on your list...

Nice pics! Looks like that was a great trip. Like the red lighthouses with the red Fiero.

That road looks amazing... I could just imagine high speed blasts down there. Oh how I miss the east. Do you have a high Res pic of that?

Nice Pics! Looks like you had a really good time. I've always wanted to do a road trip out east (never made it past Quebec City) and after seeing your pics, I'm definitely going to do it - preferably in the fiero as well.

Fantasitic trip and scenery. Thanks for the virtual tour.

I had the wonderful opportunity to tour (by car) a portion of the Gaspe and spend a bit of time in the Quebec City environs about 10 years ago (as I lived in St.Sauveur-des-Monts from 1992 to 2001). It was beautiful then, it still is!

I was in a black 85 gt.

It was my first trip over 20km in the car, and it not a single problem. It was great!

That's a great idea for a trip, and from the looks of it great scenery to drive through Good pics, too. I'll have to try something like that, maybe next year. Thanks for the idea

That is the best response one can get on posting a thread, when it sparks the idea with other Fiero drivers
I would love to do this trip again someday, but it depends on soooooo many things in the future...
One thing I know, I would like to do a coast to coast in a Fiero (or motorcycle) one day...

Took the Fiero for a short trip today, all the reds and bright yellows are GONE... Till next year...

So here are some more of the colors we saw from the Fiero.

Michigan has over 115 lighthouses with 12 accessible in the lower pennisula.
Lake Michigan
Lake Huron
Lake Huron and Georgian Bay

Might make a nice tour before/after the 25th show.

Thanks for sharing those nice pics. Funny, there is a Fiero in so many

I was up that way a couple of years ago and it is really nice scenery. I did Cape Breton also and it was very nice indeed. It would have been nicer in my Fiero
