so i went back up to some of my favorie driving road this weekend near my Fiance`s place and while she was working, i was out shooting some video!
some of you asked how i mounted the camera, so, here are some pics
the tools required i used my dads old canon powershot 300 on this video (for on the car). it already had a broken screen, so if the camera broke, it wasnt a big deal
here it is installed. and belive me, it doesnt go anywhere
thats awesome. looks like you gave me an idea for wed. morning hope you dont mind! itll be quite similar but i love the way you did it!
go for it.
i too wish i could have seen how the scooters handled the water but if i would have left a couple seconds later, i would have been behind a honda pilot

Cool vid! Love the look of your GT by the way! What kind of rims are those, and what size? Do you have any other pictures of your car you could post?
Thanks!
i have LOTS of photos of the car, i'll post a few in a little bit

I think to bring it to the next level you need to bring a camera car and get some more shots in of your own.
MORE ACTION SHOTS!!! i know, i need a "camera man and chase vehicle soon.

Ok...I've determined that those wheels are the same as the ones on a 2002 Jetta 1.8T...
What I need to know is...were they a direct bolt on? Or did you need to use spacers and/or alter your lug pattern in any way?
Also...what size tires are you running?
Your car is absolutely beautiful.
Those videos are awesome and have inspired me to make some of my own at some time in the future...although I have no idea at all about how to go about editing them and adding the audio.
I can't wait to move to the North West for roads like that. Great video too. How compressed is the video you posted does it get any better resolution in it original version?

Rock on...and keep the videos coming.
as for the wheels, they are actually off a 2003 GTI, but are the same
there was no modifications needed. they are a 5x100 bolt pattern and a 38mm offset. basically a perfect fit. oh, and they are 17's (but look bigger) the tires were the ones that came with the wheels and are a 225/45/R17. i know a lot of people go to a 215 in the front, but i wont. i do want to step up to a larger in the rear though, mostly for handling. right now, the car is really well balanced, but oversteer is induced a bit easier than i want. i think a 235 in the rear will be just about right... and stickier tires
for editing video, i just used windows moviemaker that came with the computer. it is fairly simple to use, although i wish there were some more options on it.
and the resolution goes down so much on youtube. the originals (like totally unedited from the camera) are huge but are pretty good resolution. maybe not as good as a real video camera, but i think it shoots pretty good. good enough for my purposes right now. and it is easy to do. (i am not responsible for any broken cameras out there ) i couldnt see myself taping on my brothers video camera on the front of the car the same way.
ive got some more ideas for the future for videos, but i need to find some chase cars and a few other people to shoot with. (shawn, is your car together yet?)
thaks for all lthe compliments on the car guys, it means a lot!
