Well seeing I have it all locally and know what it cost me. Now to scare myself
All in AU $ of course

Engine 97 Buick 3800sc 600 miles on the clock. $3,100
Transmission 97 Buick 4t65e Landed in Australia $1,000
Various brackets and mounts imported. About $450
Headers, great price from WCF then Jet Hot coated here $1000
Wiring harness, trade for parts so $340
ECM mods again trade for parts so about $300.

Parts to still come, probably another $1500

Oh and the wish list.
Tiptronic conversion for trans and paddle shifters $1600.
Intercooler about $1400

Why did you buy an engine from America does it have any more grunt than a commodore motor.
Or was it just because it had 600 miles.

It has a front wheel drive layout making it right for the swap. Supercharged Commodore motors have the throttle body facing the wrong direction. Among other quirks that would need addressing.

I would imagine that you could order a blower case and other related FWD stuff from here in the states with limited shipping charges.

The non supercharged 3800s are a pretty much plug and play swap, but the SC ones are different. The commodore motor definately looks messy in a Fiero compared to a FWD one.

Also the way I see it why swap in a Commodore motor when even the best of them is only 170hp (excluding supercharged). Then compare that to the 140 hp the Fiero motor already has and the sweet sound. The money is better spent on other mods if only 170 hp is sought.

Proff used to have a 3.8 and he swapped it back to a 2.8 he said he had an over heating issue he couldnt solve. My extractors have blown thru and are in desperate need of attention so i thought id look at a swap rather than just buy a new exhaust. I have to fix the linkages at moment too as gearbox is stuffed at present.

Hey i am installing your stage IIs that i got from you ages ago and guess what clubsport side skirts not the latest ones but from a VT VX repro fibreglass as i thought they had more shape. I think when i am done i will have one sick looking fiero side on. I am gonna mould it smooth the rails to the scoops.
As my fibreglassing skills are picking up i might take on bonnet scoops next as i had to rebuild my original side steps and repair fender in past which came out well. I am currently glassing on the door trim.
so not finished yet and my side skirts are to arrive today. I am only off Sunday 1 day this week so i will see how i go.

Well as mentioned my extractors have a huge hole in them on front side of motor,
Is it the whole exhaust? What have you got there what would you like for it?
