Just got her home. According to the VIN, she is the 256th car made for this year
She is a little rough around the edges, and curently doesn't run (see my topic in Tech...).
She is also the most basic coupe I have personally ever seen. No options at all, except for that $317 stereo!!!
Trying to decide if I can fix her, or part her out.
Here are a couple of pics.
Interior shot, Seats are shot and the foam surround around the Shifter plate is nasty... the passenger side dash corner is totally trashed, but oddly enough the driver's side dash corner is barely broken. Weird...
Really dirty engine bay
But a fairly clean tansmission...

Wow....she reminds me of my old 86 notchie that I bought new back in the day.
Only options I had were air, tilt, and cruise. I even had the same hubcaps...I later found the veg-o-matic wheels in a junkyard. Don't part her out if she's solid....bring her back to life. Hopefully it will be simple to get her back on the road. Enjoy!

Very sad... But this car is going to be parted out
The passenger side floor pan has about a whole square foot of a hole in it. That and the fact that the intake manifold is going to have to be pulled off, because hte coolant tube broke off in it, is just too much to try and fix.
So, keep an eye out on the Mile High Fieros website, the mall section and Ebay. All of it is going to go.
I am going to keep the Solid roof panel and the long, under the car, coolant tubes.

A 4 cylinder five speed would probably do 35 mpg on the highway. My 88 4 cyl. auto will do 30 or 31 if I play nice and keep the speed down (and on the flats.)
I'll be cutting up an 86 soon, if you want some floorpan? Only charge you shipping. What else you need to keep this one from Fiero Heaven (also known as the Hyundai plant in Korea?) It looks pretty nice, except for the seats (and the non running engine.)

I can't believe how you guys part out these almost mint looking fiero's (frame wise) here up north, that frame is considered brand spanking new!
Well, he did say there was a big hole on the drivers side floorboard. Anyway, sad to say but cars like this are a dime a dozen around here.....clean, rust-free frames and all. It was (and is) worth more as parts than a whole car. I've seen worse in California though. Back in '99 or 2000 I went to California and there were several 40-50K mile early notchies that looked like they could drive home.

Correct. I'm in the process of cutting up my last 86 SE, V6. Fairly rust free, quite high mileage (over 180K.) Problem out here is that the cars don't rust (yeah, I know THAT'S a big problem!) So they get old, need a fair amount of work, and then you still have a 20 year old car with 188,000 miles on it. This last one (it is my last part out) was only $800, I got so much good stuff (Akita wheels, Archie integrated rockers, zr2 hood, Grand Am brakes (a fancy conversion, too), Fierostore rear swaybar, cold air intake, Norm's flush mounts, Rodney's sport shifter with leather boot, a fancy stereo amp, fancy speakers, a power window/lock conversion, Held coilovers on KYB struts, decent seats, numerous body parts, and the usual extra battery & brakes (sold the rear brake cores to Fierostore, and on and on,) I couldn't not get the car and have more than made my money back and gotten stuff for my own projects.
Here it was in better days, didn't look that nice when I got it.
Nobody wants a rust free rolling chassis, much less one missing the cradle and running gear (not even the wrecking yards.) So you end up mining everything remotely valuable and then get the old sawzall out. I can't keep it around here, and in the garage it just takes up space that's needed for other projects.
To tell the truth, tho, this is my second complete part out in the past year and stick a fork in me I'm done. No more additional Fieros, I've got a mechanically wonderful, six different color 88 Formula that I'm gonna paint and doll up. I've got an 88 base coupe with a GT conversion and Akita wheels and BFG 17 & 18 tires that's got a 4.9 in its future. When the rest of the 86 is gone, I'll be able to park a car in the garage again. What a concept!
