Recently i had a run in while swapping in a brand new transmission. The output seals on the trans would not fit my fiero cv shafts. after a bit of research i found that the axle saver from fiero store was used before i bought the car. Now, these kits have a bearing and a seal that does not match the parts for the car so i will give you the part numbers that took me two days to research so that you will be able to get replacements at your local parts store.
the seals are from pioneer inc (purchased at o'rileys auto parts) # 759039 the bearings were more difficult to come by but i found them at allied bearing supply. they are Torrington bearings # HK4012
hopefully this is helpful

Using those part numbers, they're both available online from Advance Auto Parts. The seal is $0.99, and the axle shaft bearing is $8.68 for a BCA bearing, or $19.99 for an SKF bearing.

i'm not quite following, could you guys please clarify this for me? does this mean that those 2 parts put together is the same thing as the 'axle stabilizer and seal' part the fiero store sells? if one bought them from advance, how would they go together, and where would they go?(in the knuckle, or at the transaxle?)
so buying those parts at advance, 2 each for both sides of the car, is the same thing? for a cost of at the least $20.00, or at most $40.00, depending on the manufacturer? this would be a good thing.

to answer your question: No. the axle saver is a machined piece to reduce vibration and extend the life of your cv shafts. Now, when you go to replace the seal on that piece, or the bearing it can be difficult to find. Like i said it took me two days to find without ordering them. They can be bought locally for a slightly higher price, and if you're like me then time is money. So i was just letting everyone know that if you have to change the bearings inside that unit, or the seal (if your transaxle is leaking) and you have these axle savers then these are the part numbers you need.
hopefully that helps.
