Watch me chop six inches off the roof of a Fiero...This is what happens when the weather cools off in Texas and you have nothing productive to do.
First the disclaimer:
Here is the victim... an 84 parts car that has given me lots of good parts and is close to being completely stripped. Time to have some fun with it before the frame goes to Fiero heaven.
The Sawzall is the tool of choice:
My six inch cut at the B Pillars
Both B Pillars are now cut:

Time to fold back the windshield...Need some cuts at the A pillars:
Need to make some cuts on the windshield to help it to lay back some more...
Need to lean in the B pillars a little...check that A LOT...good thing I have some duct tape to hold it
Almost done...
Since it's getting dark, we'll call it finished...
Only thing left is the Curley Pose:

Yo,
That's a million $ "pose"
After this intro into body work, I can't wait to see what you have in mind for an engine.
Should be quite a roller

Hehehe. You forgot to smile when using your sawall.
Congradulation. I think your the first person to chop a [non] working Fiero instead of the their regular Fiero.

There's still a few parts left on the old girl.
Check out how much rear window is left after a six inch chop:

This is a great classic pic! Almost like you are posing for a promo shot for a really bad horror flick.

You obviously have far too much time on your hands, Jonathon! Surely NASA can find something useful to keep you busy (like driving the tour bus or stocking the souvenir store during this holiday season), hehehehe! A good, funny post though - Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Does no one else see the potential of that? That rear window would look sick, and I like the aggressive stance with that chop, you would have to pull some of the angle out of the windshield, and shorten the lenght of the roof, but I think the 6" chop has serious potential. Not Joking..

Heh.
Choptop, "Ghetto-Style".
I love it when people get all creative with their spare time and old crap.
Now all ya need to do is to put on some Lambo Hinges....

Yeah I would have shortened the roof, but that would have taken 4 more cuts and more duct tape. It's not for everyone, but the 6" chop would be very agressive.

All done in fun, thanks for the laughs, jscott! In spite of the fact that it was done as a spoof, it's interesting to note that you can actually see some of what's involved with a chop top.

Hahahaha, fantastic!
If I had a dollar for every time I saw a picture of you terrorizing some poor Fiero with a sawsall I could probably afford to have mine chopped.

Contrary to the thread's title, here is my photoshop visualization of a 6 inch notchback chop top
I chopped about 3 more inches off the Stinger

This car had already been cut up pretty good as it once had a big block in it.
But the cutting now is all for a good cause. Very little if any will go to waste. Stay tuned.
