DATE CHANGE, get together will be October 28th ORIGINAL LOCATION Hooters on Washington Rd
October 28th at Hooters in Augusta Georgia
There is a scheduling conflict that has come up concerning October 21st and the Hooters location. A local organization has taken precedence over our little get together, the CSRA Road Angels wanted the date for an organized car/truck show. I e-mailed them for some details and to find out if we could block off a specific area for us. The following is the response I received: ************************************
David, got your e-mail re Hooters on the 21st. Yes the CSRA ROAD ANGELS' PUMPKIN RUN CAR AND TRUCK SHOW is that day and registrations are 9am to 12 noon.....awards at 3;30pm.......top 30 and best of show...entry fee is $20.......dash plaques for the first 150 entrants......50/50 drawing .....you and your club members are invited to attend and join the fun .......you can park as a group , if you all arrive at the same time or we will try to put you together as time allows.....you can distribute your vendors information to your members or throw it into the pot of gifts and prizes that we will be giving away......we expect to have about 200 cars and trucks and would like to have you and your group join us.......Jan Holley VP CSRA ROAD ANGES CAR CLUB.
****************************************
If anyone wants to come in to attend the car show at Hooters they are still more than welcome but we felt the $20 entry fee along with the fact that actual service at the restaurant will probably be iffy at best might deter some people who might otherwise be looking forward to coming down for a the day. Hope this is agreeable with those who were already planning on attending, if this change will effect your decision to attend let me know. David R. Andrews
The meet will be on October 28th 2006 Time: 10:45am till .............................. whenever! Hooters 2834 Washington Rd Augusta, Ga 30909
At this time the Fiero Store has been kind enough to send a box of STUFF for the event. We will be doing the same thing this year as far as "first to arrive" and "most miles driven to attend".
At this point I am planning basically the same type event at the same location, will be contacting the Fiero Store to see if they may be able to throw in some "door prizes".

Throwing October 14th out as a possible date, please give me some feedback on scheduling. Fiero Store WILL be back on board this year providing "door prizes".
Steve, Charlie, Ronnie, Scott, GUYS! I will not be at the next Ga Club meeting so if someone could throw this out there for the club members I would apprecciate it!

Spoke without thinking, or typed without.................
Georgia Fiero Club meets the second Saturday of the month which would be the 14th.
The meet will be on October 21st 2006 Time: 10:45am till .............................. whenever! Hooters 2834 Washington Rd Augusta, Ga 30909

We will be trying to get the same arrangement we had last year with Hooters which was 10% off menu prices on food items.
I'll update this page often enough to keep it from falling into the archives, giving updates as details are confirmed.

If anyone wants to carvan down there like last year with me just pm and let me know or whatever..
Scott
P.S. I will say somthing about Augusta meet at this weeks gafiero club meeting.
Also you may want to post a message on the gafiero clubs site about the meeting.
I was gonna wait till maybe after RFTH before mentioning it on the Ga club message board, I realize theres a lot going on right now with folks planning for that event. I still have not completely ruled out being there but it just doesn't seem like a smart trip to make right now. I think Kiesha (Mistress007) was gonna put something in the news letter about the get together in Augusta, I'm hoping we'll have a better turn out than last year and last year was pretty good!
The Fiero Store has sent a box of goodies and Surge and I are gonna try to come up with a few more items to giveaway. The main thing we want to emphasize is that this is going to be a casual relaxed type get together, just Fiero folks hangin' out sharing a common interest. There were a lot of really nice cars here last year, really every car that came was nice even if it may have been a work in progress (like mine!). Cars were displayed, ideas and opinions shared, Ronnie even took a few people for a spin in his 4.9, bottom line we were there to have a good time!
I'll try to bump this thread enough to keep it out of the archives but do realize it's still early for a lot of people to commit to coming, hopefully as the date gets closer we can get a decent headcount and give some more details.

Heh! I just checked the calendar. Amazingly, it looks like I don't have to work. (It just gets to the point where I hate to even check...) I'm planning to be there.

Bump to the top, I'm putting the info for the meet on the Georgia club site. http://www.gafiero.org . Its on the "events" page, it'll get up into the little "events summary" on the main page in like mid-september.

Appreciate the bump and if you can make it you will have a good time. Good folks + Fieros = Great time!

Yeah it was fun gettin' together and talking Fieros. A good warmup to the October 21st meet. Still a ways off so we might have to do it again before then. Hopefully a good number of folks from the GA Club will make it down. I remember we had a blast last year. Some of you guys in South Carolina should come on down as well. Augusta is right on the border so it would be cool to have kind of a combined meet between the GA members and the SC members. I'm not sure if there is a Fiero club in South Carolina but I know there are plenty of Fiero owners there.
David , I'm gonna have to decline this time. I've decided to go to Auburnfest instead. If I can make either event. Just thought I'd help out the Ga. Fiero crowd for the show. We will probably be out numbered by the gang from Tenn.

Cool, this works out a lot better actually. The people who want to, can attend both Auburnfest and this Augusta Georgia Meet, instead of having to decide.

Oh well. Plans changing means I can not make it now. I have an out of town trip that weekend.
Come on up on the 21st, we're gonna be at the Hooters that day for the car show. If you want to participate in that let me know and we'll try to make arrangements to all meet at the same time. I figured either way there might be some scheduling conflicts but really anyone who planned on coming on the 21st is still more than welcome.

I'll be able to make both events. Now, all you who were planning to make the Augusta meet on the 21st, come on out to the AuburnFest. The Tennessee club claims to be approaching 12 cars that they're bringing. We can't be beat out again.
Then on the 28th we can have a BIG caravan down I-20 to Augusta. Last year, we had people driving up along side the string of Fieros, just gawking at us. They acted like they were seeing a bunch of expensive European sports cars. Ferraris, even.

I'll be able to make both events as well. (Please add me to the Auburnfest list, Charlie.) Since I (amazingly) don't have to work and since "She Who Must Be Obeyed" will be otherwise occupied, this leaves me with two weekends of unencumbered Fiero-folks time. Too bad she's busy, though. I wish she could come with me.

Will be attending the car show at Hooters on the 21st with Surge (Suufmeister) and hopefully Scott (psychosurfer), anyone who is closer to us than Auburnfest is welcome to come join us in Augusta for the day.
Otherwise hope to see a good turnout here on the 28th!
Any one that might need directions or other details please feel free to ask here, PM, or e-mail.
David

Had a good time at the car show this weekend! Surge (Suufmeister) got a plaque for being in the top 30 with his 88GT and we met a few folks that said they wanted to drop in on the 28th to check out the Fieros. Gave out a few cards we had that give the Ga Fiero Club and Pennocks web addresses. We got zero negative comments on the cars, was a really good crowd.
