Guys / Gals, this posting is a cry out for anyone that can, please donate what ever you can to any organization you can.

I know there are a few postings to help out our forum members. Thats great, & will help out those few members. I think that is great.

Giving to the Red cross or other large organizations that will directly help all the thousands in desperate need of help right now might be a human thing I hope you can do.

Please check with your employers, see if your companies participates in a gift matching program. That way it can double your donations.

Here's one, (of many) site that can be used

https://secure2.convio.net/arc/site/Donation?ACTION=SHOW_DONATION_OPTIONS&CAMPAIGN_ID=1161

Hurricane 2005 Relief and other Related Events: (Copied from the Red Cross site)

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm that is still making its way across the Mid-Atlantic States. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands victims left homeless with critical necessities. By making a financial gift to Hurricane 2005 Relief, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.

Thank you to any of you that have , or will help. They can take any size donation of 5 dollars and over. Thank you for considering doing this.

I know this is not directly Fiero related, it's more human related. Has a better chance of being seen here. Forgive the temporary breaking of the rules.

Yes we should help our own but there are many others out there, so please if you can donate anywhere - just do it!

I'm so glad various companies are doing this. Thanks for giving.

Jen, well said, just do it.

I know one year ago, my town was in bad shape after Charley, w/o running water or power for 15 - 17 days. The Red Cross came through the neighborhoods with warm meals and bottled water.

It was not as bad as these poor folks have it. For those that can, please concider giving, even if it's only five dollars. It will help.

Our company is matching donations PLUS they donated $2mil as well.
One of our shipyards in MS was hit hard. The employees have been given SAT phones, company cars, and 2 weeks pay advance. If they are homeless, they are being directed towards other facilities in other states where they can use company apartments. (The apartments are usually reserved for field personnel and company guests).

The company I work for has started a relief fund and seeded it with $500,000, yep, that's 1/2 a million! While I was at the store yesterday a lady was there (over 50?), asking for information about a place that would change her tire, she was on the way back from the twin cities and got a flat while still 45 miles from home. I was just wasting time until my son got out of school so I went and changed it for her. When she tried to hand me some cash for my trouble I told her I would rather have it donated to the relief fund and off she went, hopefully to make it $500,050!
