One of my winter projects for my Fiero is to install Speedhut EL gauges. Slowly been working on them and finally last week got everything back together and test run both day and night. Wow! What a difference and I love them. Here are some pics of day and at night. The night pic does not do it justice. It looks orange, but that is my digital camera. I tried all the settings on the camera to get a good picture and this one was the best out of the bunch, but it still not any good, because at night they glow a good solid bold red. Not a hint of orange, with the exception of the odometer. I wish I can take a better picture.

At night, the glow did not bother me at all and I really got some stares when at a traffic light from the cars next to me. The gauge covers are still off because I have to do a bit of calibration to the temp gauge. The others seem pretty good.

I have the aux gauges, but I don't like where they are on top of the radio console, so I just did without. It's an 85SE 5-speed, so it didn't orginally come with the aux gauges.

You see the red light reflections against the gauge bezel. That is about close to what it is like. That red even redder.

I still want to do this mod, and holy crap that sure does look bright at night!

was it a PITA to line the gauges all back up? I heard some people run into problems with that.

The gauges or the gauge needles? There was some minor issues like where Speedhut had the connection to the gauges with the wires run into a jam, but it worked out. If you are going to get a set, tell Speedhut to have the wire connection on the temp/gas gauge on the bottom, not on top. Also the tach, it would be nice if they would have moved the connection about 15 degrees clockwise.

I also striped the paint on my needles and painted them red.

But lining them up is easy. replacing the needles to the correct position is a toughy. Still working on my temp. I have the speedo, tach, and gas pretty much on. The temp is about 40 F degrees off. But will correct that next drive out.
