"Through" the front wheel well lower then where the rear one goes "through"?? Has anyone else noticed this?? And is the car off aligned or is it purposely done like that??
Also on a different subject. Can you "shave" the moldings?? I'm not sure how you can take them on & off if you do that but i'm sure someone here has done it. Also on a alternative, how do the rounded moldings from the Fiero store look like?? Are they nice? I haven't really seen any pictures of them on fiero so yeah.
Thx again for participating in another one of my crazy question threads lol

As to why the moldings are that way it's an aesthetics thing. From an artistical standpoint it pulls your eye downward and toward the front of the car, giving it a sloped more agressive feel than perfectly horizontal molding would. As far as shaving the molding yeah you can do it, but if you ever need to replace a body panel you'll have to cut it off because the body panels attach to the subframe of the car under the molding.
So if I do a "smoothed" body modling i'm basically SOL if I need to take it off or anything?? I mean I haven't had my Fiero long enough to see this stuff thats why i'm asking it.
Can I somehow have the screws/bolts or whatever is under the moldings on the opposite side and if I wanted them off i'd have to undo them from the inside? Is that possible? Madcurl could you go more into how you did yours and how you still take your panels off & etc.

You might have a hard time managing a clip with the quarters and rear fascia smoothed permanently into it. You should be able to fasten everything and fill in every gap as long as you don't expect it to be easy to 'service' anything underneath. It will be a bear to get it all looking straight.
I have considered shaving the stock trim and replacing it with something that looks different like polished aluminum. The trim line is part of the design and to me it looks odd without something there.

The only reason you should ever have to remove your panels is if you get in a wreck. If that's the case then you are going to have to do repairs anyway.

LOL Wish that was true. Heck I seem to have my panels off each year while changing the design of my car. Every year I owned this car some panels were removed and painted and I never wrecked it yet. But then again that might just be me.

While sitting on my porch staring at my Fiero lol I decided I will keep the side molding, but I will probably down the road get the rounded smooth moldings from the Fiero Store. So till then....lol.

If you switch to the rounded moulding you'll need to replace the front and rear bumpers since it the moulding is molded into those peices. I like the way the line goes through the wheel arch up front it makes the car 'lean' forward. I think that the Fiero body looks good with a slightly larger diameter rear wheel too because of that.

Whoa......what kinda bumper do I have to get???? I was planning on doing some custom work on my front & rear bumper and I would be really ticked off if I found out I can't have rounded moldings cuz I would need new ones. What Fieros had these type of front & rear bumpers?? And how hard would it be to just remove the moldings I have now and to just mold the rounded ones onto them??
