Go to that thread to read all the basis, READ IT ALL CAREFULLY please, mainly the second page.
I don't want this project to die. You can help out in many ways. With design ideas, drawings and for the really motivated & interested you can help out with a hands on approach(by means of transforming your spare or own Fiero into one or help out a member(s) doing this).
I will eventually do a Finale kit as stated in the thread linked above. But till then I will make my very own Fiero the "notchback model" version & so on.
So let's get the ideas brewing and get drawing & etc. A lot of these mod ideas can be used on your on Fiero that we will(& have in the thread above) so join in on the fun even if you don't like the thought of modding a Fiero into a "modern" version. So who's in?
So I was thinking of some ideas. Im not to fond of having vents on the hoods, or it might just be the fact I haven't seen to many vent designs but either way I was thinking of ways of having the air flow somewhere else(besides going through the radiator & down under the car causing possible lift). So I was thinking of routing the air to a internatl vent to the brakes. Will also cool the brakes at the same time, but i'm not if that will possibly accelerate brake wear? Someone with a lot of car knowledge could answer that please lol. Or possibly having something like Skitimes trans am vents or simliar, and having the air routed solely to that opening. Just throwing out some ideas to get the snowball rolling. Doing some sketches while i'm messing around here on PFF & talking on aim lol.

Me and Skitime (original designer ) both have a ZR1 (cowl) hood scoop that vent the air through the radiator and out at the windsheild, thus reducing possible lift.
I like this style every since I saw my first 1970 Chevelle SS
Edit: One of the things yo could do is make it more low profile to give it a more streamline look. Just a idea.

Hmmm I didn't think of the cowl induction look.......that is sharp. I think I would like it a tad bit wider and more low for that streamline look like you said, but either way it looks sharp and would look neat with my Mustang scoop I have on the rear. Great suggestion, a plus for you man.
I like the Stage 2 scoops but didn't quite like the lower stock panels. So I photoshopped a picture of someone who had Stage 2's on there Fiero after I got he idea of "one" single rocker panel piece from the scoop oslo has. Here's my idea, basically get the stage 2 scoop set from Aus Fiero, then fiberglass or w/e the panels together. Maybe Aus can just make the whole piece possibily if enough interest is made . Well here's the picture.
Also has anyone done this idea, having these type of ram air scoops on the Fiero?? It opens at the back, so not only would air go through the radiator and up and out the back of the scoop similiar to a cowl induction but just also have air going through the top so it'd be cool. If I was good at photoshop I would photoshop these on lol. http://www.ramairhood.com/photo_gallery/pontiac/82_92_trans_am/82-92_ta_gallery.htm
Also any ideas that for the front?? I have a 1986 SE notchback with the aero package so i'm thinking what I can do to improve the look of the front bumper and any suggestions for hte back would be cool too. Thx

I like the Mustang scoop on the back as well. Here mine with a Whaletail. I haven't taken any new pics recently, this one is in process.
Plus a bump for you to keep it on top

Hey from down under tell me if you have to scoops in thos pics opening near the windscreen the heat might make the glass crack
Wait huh?? Re-say that pleace lol.
So while talking to another member, I photoshopped a picture of Skitimes ZR1 Cown hood and widened it a bit(the edges near the headlights) and it looks pretty sweet. I was wondering where you guys got your hoods and if i could just cut them in half and make htem wider or do I have to make my own from scratch???????? Also I should propose my stage 2 scoop rocker panel idea to Aus & see if he'll make it.

I remember from Ski's build thread, he took the scoop and cut it in half, and trimmed off more until it was right. So widening it would be similar, except you'd add material instead of cutting it out.
hey all sorry I mised this I have been in o/t the whole time. I tried getting this together a year ago but I guess I didn't push for it hard enough props to you fiero finale. anyways I saved the orange notchie prototype also here are both of them for a recap. I have an extra fiero I was going to do this with when I brought it up. I am looking to do the fast back one and was looking at other cars in wrecking yards for parts and ideas to achieve the look. here are those..... fastback notchback

Nice and that sucks your thread didn't get through man. Your good at designing, either way even if this doesn't go through, i'm using majority of these new & old ideas on my own Fiero so i'm basically just doing a bunch of work & whoever else so that they & I can do it to our own FIeros. I highly doubt a group will get together and build a few of these off of current Fieros from scratch and try to sell them but its a dream lol. So this is very helpful for me & hopefully others.
Also thx RWDPLZ for the tip, I was wondering how I would do that. I wonder where I can get a Zr1 Cowl hood for? Hmmm
Can anyone think of any good new or current noses to be used??? I'm tackling that idea right now. Off to do more sketches.
Originally posted by Black-Azz-GT: Fiero's need extractor vents not hood scoops. The spair tire does not need any fresh air. This is a mid engine car! Sorry, Just my opinion.
Oh, well still lol. So does anyone know where I can get a ZR1 hood like Skitime?? Also whats the stuff you use to make molds are actual parts, like if I were to widen the hood I would cut it in half and add material to make it wider. Do I use fiberglass or something and where do I Get fiberglass from?? Thx.
ahhh i think i might have gotten the beginning of my 2008 fiero... found a brand new 2004 grand prix front nose out side of the local body shop in very good condition only a bit of a tweak in the front... now if only i can find a gto and get the motor out of it.

I just found a member who has the ram air hood on his Fiero just like the one on that Trans Am I showed above. I'll post the picture later.
I think I might still go with Zr1 Hood skitime did. Also the Ram Air hood can work cuz look at how skitime did his hood, it's not allowing air into the spare tire compartment so yeah.

Wow interest is brought back again!!!!!!!! Dude where you been? Lol. I'm on Aim often so yeah lets get back to the 2008 project brewing up ideas.
So this thread is going to serve 2 purposes for now on. Designing a Fiero for 2008(read the posts about that before posting please ) and what most ppl will enjoy which is coming up with designs of for the Fiero that we can use on our own Fieros. A little something we can all join in about k? Sounds good . Thx
