musicman_L7, who used to live in my hometown, recently moved to Iowa. He's been trying to get me to come over and see his new place...so, I hopped in the car and headed over there this morning. An added bonus was that KEV was down from Minnesota. He was delivering a car for Dick Edzards, who is another Midwest Fieros and PFF member. He stayed at musicman's place Saturday night, so I figured I could kill several birds with one stone...I'd get to see musicman's new place, visit with both him and KEV, and see the "new" Formula that musicman had picked up from Darrell Morse on Friday night, along with Dick's car that Kevin brought down from Minnesota.
Anyway...I took a few pics of musicman's new daily driver, and thought I'd share them...we all know how we like pics here...
A few angle shots... Nic and Kev watch as I take another pic... Here's a pic of Nic's new trailer, for those of you that followed that thread... And...the "crew"...from left, musicman, KEV, and myself...
I have some pics of Dick Edzards' new ride, too...but I'm not sure if he wants them posted before he "unveils" the car, so I've withheld those...

Nice pics Mike. Is the Formula missing from the driverside door? Or is that just the way the angle caught the door. The car looks to be in great shape. I wish my paint had that much of a shine to it. Thanks for sharing.

Darlene, in person, you can see the "Formula" outline on the door. The decal itself is gone, but the adhesive is still on the door...or was yesterday. The car really IS in pretty good shape. It doesn't have many options, but then, he's a young guy...he can do without power windows and mirrors.

So, maybe, the "Formula actually IS gone. The car DOES need new paint...the clear is starting to peel in a few places, and the rear bumper was pretty dull next to the rest of the car. But it's really a nice, solid car. Wish I could afford another Fiero...

Lol...actually, that's why we took that picture. I have a couple that make it appear that the Formula is pulling the trailer, but I didn't post all of them.

Yep, James...as Kevin said, it's Dick Edzards' car. I have more pics of it, but as I said above, I didn't want to post any pics of it before Dick has his "unveiling". There were a few "bumps in the road" with this car, but it's done now, and I think Dick is going to be extremely happy with it.

Lol...No, I think I'll stay put for a while yet, Trevor. I have no urge to have my wife "bump me off and barricade my body in a bedroom." (Long story short, Nic lives in a small town...and one of the residents was just sent to prison for killing her husband, and hiding his body in a bedroom in the house for over a year.)

Thanks for not posting pictures mike. I think the car is turning out nicely. We have work to do before it is ready to debut. I think Kevin and his friends did a great job. Hopefully it will be ready when the shows start this Spring. Can't wait to get the car home so I can play with it.

Yes Mike, the "Formula" adhesive is gone, and the sticker will be gone from the pass. door tomorrow. Upon closer inspection, I found that it was in bad shape, so I intend to get a pair of replacements.
The rear bumper nearly matches the rest of the body after all of the polishing compound that was used on it today. The taillights are now reflective and shiny. The interior smells and looks new. The engine compartment is fully detailed, and many pieces have been repolished. I have a few plans to update the look of the interior, and bring it up to today's standards... I really like the look of a single color dash, and intend to have the rest of the interior match it.
It's a work in progress, no surprise, but I don't want to do too much to it, and take precious time/money away from my GT. The Formula is simply a driver.

8 MPG??? Hell, I think it was nearly 6 while heading into a 25 MPH wind, and good sized hills from Ames, IA to Carroll, IA.
But, the overall average for the trip home ended up being 8.9 MPG, which isn't too bad since I never let the speed drop below 54 MPH, and that was on one of the big hills mentioned above, but we ran a steady 65-70 MPH the whole way back.
The trip up, (empty), was averaged at 10.2 MPG. That was a steady 70-75 MPH trip. I've found that hills aren't my biggest problem, but the headwinds really kick my a$$.
Oh well... I guess it's time to go back to a bigger truck. Chrissy's gonna LOVE that.
