All I can say is WOW! That car is sweet! I didn't think I would care for power steering in a Fiero but his car feels great! The 3.5 is smooth as silk too... I took some new pictures of it that I'll try to post tomorrow.. The car looks much better in real life than in pictures...

Thanks Rick & Jen... Great car!

Thanks.
I like to show it to people and even let some drive it so they can see for them selves just how cool this power steering system is in an 88 Fiero.
I think the "F" body rack would work just as well in any Fiero
It is a great car to drive too. At 85-90mph I feel like I am only doing 60. Yes the speedo is correct
I even let go of the wheel at 90 and it was as straight as an arrow. No steering wheel shudder or wandeing around the lanes. It is like a train on tracks.

Ive been digging what you have been doing for a while now. Im really impressed with your determination to detail and trying out things that have never been done. I give you two thumbs up man. How much money...modifications are needed to get the power steering system in an 88. Ive thought about it for my 88 and if it clears up the wondering with the wheel some that would be fantastic. Let me know any details of price lists and what needs to be done. Later man!!

Do you have a write up on the power steering conversion? Will it work on the 84-87's? WE all need to know

+ to you

Hmmm... Let me think.... haha... Yeah, I'd say I am interested. I need to come by and see your progress anyway so I can take a look at what you've got and see what kind of deal I can make with you....

Okay... here's some pics of Rick's car. I'll post a few here and a link to the directory with the rest of them so we won't eat up Cliff's bandwidth. There are 14 pictures in all... Rick, I still have the hi-res pics if you want them on a disc...

Cool thanks Dale
I would like the disk if it is not to much trouble.
Man that inside is in realy bad shape, I got alot of work to do for the Coast Run
Orvile, next time we are in Bfeild we will try to stop by, if you dont mind.

BTW on the ride home from work last night I hit one of my favorite turns at about 10mph faster than I could with the Intrigue, and the tires did not even make a sound Dont get me wrong, the Intrigue handles very well. I did not even push the Fiero to it's limit, I pushed it to MY limit

It seems like the paint shop did a good job afterall. I like the strip combo and the extra deck vent. I like the trip gauge too. It's sometimes...the little thing that count the most.

Well the paint is just OK. The pics look realy good and you cant see the bad spots. Heck we just drove it over 100 miles at 85-90mph and the road dirt dont even show in the pis But the next car will be MUCH better. I will take it to Spddy, he can do an even better job Yes it is the small things that make it, that is why I went throu so much under the hood. Sorry no new pics of it.

Sweet car... body mods are damn near exactly like what I'd like to do with my 88 Formula.

Stereo install is a wee bit rough though :-)

Just read the threads on the engine install and power steering... sweet all the way around, Kudos!

I'll be interested if you get a 'kit' going for the p/s, I really need to get going on my 3800 series 2 swap, but I probably won't get started til the new year. Need to get the clutch done in my 87 and get it back on the road first.

The dash pod is Rick's creation... It uses the Oldsmobile gauge cluster and a fiberglass housing that Rick made from scratch. It is pretty darn amazing!

Awesome job. Looks great. +

The cluster is from an Intrigue, correct? Do those gauges work with the Fiero senders or are they digital (work on a Can-bus)? You need to post a link to the cluster build-up also. I had it here somewhere, but it seems to have disappeared.

I hate to keep answering for Rick but I'm sure he will add more input...

The dash cluster is from the Intrigue.. There are no Fiero senders left in Rick's car. EVERYTHING in this baby is Intrigue! The entire gauge cluster is hooked up to the correct corresponding Intrigue sending unit. Even the shift indicator on the cluster works!

Thanks every body.

MillenniumFiero, the hood vents are from Rockcrawl. the fender vents are TA the side intakes are Aus Stage Twos, the deck lid vents are Skitime type vents.

Yes the gauges are from the Intrigue. The gauge pod is custom. But the Olds gaudes wont work with Fiero electronics. The gauges run off of one wire. It is called a serial data link. That wire runs "links" the ani lock modual, radio, A?C controls, ALDL, PCM and gauges. All of the components "talk" to each other throu this wire. There are about a dozon wires that go to the gauges in all but the one wire that runs the gages is not conpatable with the Fiero stuff.

Thanx Rick & Dale,
I forgot you had the 3.5 also and the electronics. I don't have that luxury with the Grand Am gauges and a 3800SC.

Great job, looking forward to more write-ups.
