No flames please.. Im posting this becasue I belive shaun is one of the first to run this on a 2.8.

the car is an 88 formula , headers , no cat , clutchnet clutch , Dual TB intake (cooters old setup) and a nice Nitrous Nozzle kit being installed. For those of you who remember shaun had probably one of the fastest stock 2.8's out there. ran a best of 14.2 with an 85 GT auto. Nothing more than a crane igniton and a 75shot Impressive to say the least. The car went 16.2 off the bottle.

enjoy the pics!

shaun still has the GM raceparts aluminum block v6 and is working on a all aluminum v6 setup for the formula.

the nosszle kit should put him well into the 13's

Again...no flames please... feel free to discuss though!

Thanks!

Impressive set up. I dunno if 14.2 is fastest stock 2.8 setup. I ran 14.5 with my beat up auto on a stock engine, with just the nitrous. When I converted to 4spd, the car was certainly quicker, but it broke the 1 time at the track (split the trans in half).

Very quick car, I dig it, Shaun helped a bunch when he used to be able to post around here. Can't wait to see how it goes with that new kit!!

Looking good. You say he went 16.2 off the bottle, Was that with the dual TB intake? or was that with the stock intake?
Just curious if he ever compared the stock intake to the dual TB.
Actually I think Travis (1FST2M6) had that type of nitrous on his car and if I remember he was in the 12's with his set-up.
Just looked thru the archives and he was using the Nitrous Express part number 20216 with 62/26 jetting. Is this simular to the Nosszle set-up? These are the "wet" kits right? He was running low 13's with a best time of 12.92.
Let us know what he gets once it's hooked up and tuned.

That's a killer setup. It was the one I originally purchased but the piggyback nitrous injectors weren't deep enough to seat in the intake holes on my Edelbrock system.

Ok fastest documented. shaun just emailed me and said it was a 14.1.

travis ran a NX single fogger wet kit. He never actually went high 12's , he used his 8th mile times to calculate a probable 12 sec pass.

shaun's 14.1 sec pass was on his old 85GT auto , bone stock. this setup is going on the Dual TB 88 formula 5spd.

I worry about flames becasue shaun has a colourful past on the forum , but has since cleaned up his internet demenior and does a good job of posting various tech articles for the masses.

Really?!

Unless I'm mistaken, he went to a lot of trouble to cobble together a fake time slip, then.

Good luck to Shaun. Too bad he couldn't control his 'tude a bit better. He definitely seems to know his stuff.

Even if he was a troll (just kidding), Shaun was a man of his word and paid for the dual T/B intake with no questions. My friend Travis, on the other hand... He says the check was sent and someone cashed it, just not me That was one of life's lessons learned. Since then, a part will not leave my possession until the $$$$ is in my hand.

OTOH- It's great to see that Shaun is doing this stuff with my old intake. Makes a daddy proud
