Well, for my last mod of the year, I got a console sub box from Kent (pontiacsound). I met him last saturday and picked it up, got it back up here, and installed it today. It looks great!!! Here's a few pics of it before I installed it and installed. It extends out around the shifter surround, which I really like, and its got two cupholders in it, which I really like...oh yeah, its got a Pioneer 10" in it, too.

Preinstall pics:

Installed it this afternoon, here's the pics:

Well that was very amusing. And the reason I had 8 images to begin with was because I put one in twice. DOH!

Interesting, it doesn't like to remote link to images if I use my website URL instead of my IP address. Weird. Ah well, I think it works now

You buying?

Chevy mats were in the truck when it got totalled, Fiero didn't have mats at the time, so the Chevy mats migrated. I've been looking for some nice Pontiac or Fiero mats for it ever since I got it but can't find any. I'll have to get some in a month or so though, I'll be getting another Chevy truck, so the mats will have to migrate into that

I like it.

I like the overstuffed look. I love the cup holders.

I'm thinking it's probably not real leather but would love it if I'm wrong.

I don't want or need a sub right there. I have a sub behind the passenger seat. I like my glove box in that spot.

Give me that with real leather, the cup holders, and the stock glove box where the speaker is and I will buy it on the spot.

No flame on yours at all. It looks freakin awesome.

Acoording to the website that box can now only be bought in leather...

How is the sound from the box? Is the bass overpowering?

This is one of my favourite fiero mods and is on my top 5 to do list after I finish my engine work/mods.

Dang! I thought it was going to be something to lower the car. Ironic that the same time you get your sub installed, my amp gets fried...go figure.

Let me know man!

It does look great, and you DO need some new foormats.

EDIT: how much did that run you?

What becomes of your lighter?

That does look great, but how does it affect shoulder room? By no means am I a skinny guy, I can just imagine that would make driving about as much fun as flying coach.

How much did it cost and did it come with vinyl on it already? I am really looking into something like that. Let me know a price shipped and if the vinyl job was extra. Thanks!

My credit card bill shows me as being a liar, this won't be the last mod of the year, I've got one more on its way right now, so you've still got one chance

I'm still using the stock cig lighter assembly, just took it out of the part of the stock console it was in and left it hiding under the console box, there's plenty of room under there for it, plus I only use it for my radar detector, so I never have to get at the plug, I use the on/off switch on the detector itself.

I fit really well, and I am by no means a "small" individual. It doesn't get into my way for shifting, and I don't make contact with it at my shoulder when I'm driving in a straight line or in a slight turn. I do tend to "lean" up against it when I go through hard turns, but I actually like having the added support there when I do "lean" into it as a result of hard turns.

Kent sells them for $250 shipped, I believe. His site, if you're interested or want to see some pics of the other boxes he makes, is www.pontiacsound.com

I think he's way ahead of his time. Who would have thought of making a Fiero S-10 by converting the floor mats 1st?
Brilliant Idea Nick

Love the console and yes I'm jealous. Me wants, me wants!

well time for my 2 cents. First off the site is going through huge changes! you can now pick up a vynil console box for 225 shipped to your hosue with no cup holders. Leather ones are running 260 shipped. I do consider trades. But right now i have about what I need. if you want one already installed my car has on in it and is for sale on ebay and is listed in the mall lol but check out the new products page, its coming along and hopefully there will be new vehicles added soon, I have a ford probe page thats getting laid out right now. and future cars could be grand ams, grand prixs, explorer, older generation mustangs, and S-10's/Sonomas. lmk if there is any custom boxes for other vehicles you would like to see. I am trying to get an arangement of 30-40 different specific vehicles. Thanks Kent

PS looks nice Nick, Wish I could do something like that

This may be a little off-the-wall, but, have you noticed any interference to your computer from that big, ol magnet? I've noticed that when my speakers at home get too close to other electronic stuff, it sometimes makes them do strange things. Just wondering.

They have been tested over and over, I have never had a problem and no one else has had one problem. the magnet does not mess with the computer. maybe if u had a tv screen near it? then u might but not the cars computer.

I couldn't answer it, I didn't get the dang thing working until last night. I was trying to install my amp and while wiring it up to what turned out to be the wrong wire, I managed to create a short. Radio stopped working, and I didn't have time to look at it until after I got home from work yesterday. Turns out I wired it in to the cigarette lighter wiring, which, oddly enough, is also the wiring for the power to the clock in the radio. Apparently, no power to clock means radio doesn't work at all. Just replaced the fuse for the cig lighter/clock and connected to the right wire this time, which was the power wire to the radio so my amp comes on and off with the radio, which comes on and off with accy power. So now I can answer the question everyones been asking: it sounds awesome!!! I still have to play with the adjusters on my amp a bit to get the right sound out of the sub, the volume level is about right but I want to adjust the crossover a little bit before the ride home from work today, then I'll see if I made it better or worse during the ride home. It already sound great, I can't wait to hear it when I get the amp outputs adjusted right

Hey Fieroman, good to see you still posting, it'd been awhile since I've seen one from you, we were starting to wonder what happened to some of you from ann arbor..a couple of you dissappeared for a while there.

depends on the subs mounting depth. take your mounting depth and add an 1" I am about to do away with the behind the seat, because of the loss of room. I am not trying to loss business, but it is usually a good bit of leg room thats lost. so if your worried about it, I wouldnt go with that option. Thanks
