I just like to see what's the most common stlye of fiero made into a convertible? If you have a pic, feel free to post it. Maybe make a list of all the convertibles, something like the 88 Database.

Mine started out as a 85GT , had the fastback rear clip added , then converted to the convertible. Has the Northstar w/ auto tranny.I have much better pics , but they need downsizing for PIP.

My convertible is an '87 base coupe 4 cyl auto. There is a picture of it on the Az Fiero Club web site. Someday when I have PIP setup on this machine I won't have to make lame excuses like that for not posting pictures.

mine is an 87 4cyl coupe that i'm pretty sure was one of the ones converted by the dealer in ohio. can't do new pics, but there are a few in the general archives.
Here's a couple pix of my wife's convertible. It is an 84 but the rear decklid and grills have been changed. It was made by someone in a town about 20Km from where we live from what I understand. Nothing complex....just a simple framework and canvas. One thing that I am not satisfied with is the lack of a proper cross frame. There was some support put in under the door sills but I find it lacks the stiffness it should have. Good enough for a leisurely sunday drive but I wouldn't try an autocross.....
We got it this spring and haven't really done anything to the car yet. My wife wants it to be yellow and an automatic. The jury is still out about engine swaps, flares, scoops and stuuff like that. I'm sure once she see a few finished cars at a show that list of what she wants will grow substantially!
Thanks for posting those foe me Elenor84. Mine was built by the previous owner. He did all the body work and the Northstar conversion himself. You'll notice 2 different seats in the car. The old ones were needing redone, but I bought some more bucket seats and am in the process of installing them. They came out of a Subaru Impreza
DPWood-Do you have any more pics of the 84? maybe some closeups of the pillars and how the ragtop lays when in 'convert mode'. Does the top come completely off or does it fold back somewhere? It's the 1st 84 I've seen & we have an 84. Can this be done on $2000 budget? With the sub frame under a conversion, how much ground clearance is there on a stock (non-lowered) suspension? If you don't have pip, email them please to janedon1&earthlink.net. You menioned that the vents were changed-does heat from the eng cause any problem? I know my back glass gets awfully hot in the ummer time with the stock center vent, even tho I've added 85 side engine vents in place of the solid 84 engine covers. Sorry for all the questions, but the bug has bit me.
