Are you serious? It was Pontiac Motorsports prototype that sported a super duty four cylender that made more than 270hp and did a quarter mile in 13seconds (remember this is back in the 80's). It even had wheelie bars, though I didnt get to use them =)

Somebody pinch.. uhh err ME!

Anyone ask Hulki about his thoughts on the near cult status his creation still has even after 20 years?

He shares the #1 spot with Cliff in people I would like to meet and just chat with about the weather.

Rumor has it that the SD motor was pulled and a V6 installed in it's place. Since I didn't see the headers that it SHOULD of had, I'm betting the person that took the time to crawl under the car and verify for me was right.

So HA! You got screwed!

I couldn't resist.

Thanks for the kudos on the site! Sadly though, I missed a LOT of cars because I had to work the show - yours was one of them. (I *did* see it on Sunday morning from my hotel room, as you were leaving. )

it orginally had a 16valve super duty in it, it was probably removed or it blew. That one of the ones they're going to have crushed, probably because of that

Wow, how could they do that to such a sweet car. I've loved that car since I first saw pics of it. I can't believe they put a boring stock engine in it.

Anyway, one question I've had about that car, what are those things on the front fascia? The little row of squares (?).

Well, congratz on getting a couple of once-in-a-lifetime oppertunities, I'm so jealous.

Cheers,

Kris

I have that article archived on my hard drive too. I scanned it several years ago.

I can EMail a .ZIP copy of that folder to whoever wants it.

Now Archie,

Why would a big Fiero V-8 fan such as yourself be interested in keeping a copy of a magazine that features a 4-banger motor? Oh, Wait, what's that printed in the bottom left hand corner of the cover?

Dunno about that, Adam...more than one person that talked to the guy in charge of the cars have said that none of the cars at the show were scheduled to be crushed. Of course, they may be crushing ALL of them, even as we speak...

Also note the non-functional over-the-roof scoop. (What a waste!)

I saw your 15 mile Fiero at the show and was quite impressed! Congrats on your best of show trophy. I think you were at the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk last year but you did not bring the car. How and where did you find this car?
