you all love it so much. theres like 2 thousand of you and how many gm reps? i say overpower them take the keys and see if it outhandles the police cruizers that will be after you. lol j/k i could see it now sitting in cliffs livingroom or in archies office as a coffe table. in no way was i serious about this thread. dont really still the prototype. it just poped in my head when i saw the nigh shot of all the fieros down there. still out in the parking lot at night, wondering if gm took the car at night and locked it up or if they just left it sitting there. among 3000 or so hungry, crazy fiero enthusists that can most likly hot wire the fiero before u can spell p-r-o-t-o-t-y-p-e
someone msged me earlier saying " i should come pick u up - get a trailer and lets go steal the prototype. i think it was LOW KEY!!!! too bad... i woulda been up for it or just paid the gm rep off and say it got stolen... haha

You know, all we need is someone willing to go into the engineering archives and copy the drawings for the body panels. Everything else can be worked out from there. A mechanical engineer drew them up, so who knows someone in that department that can go look them up. In 88(ish) they are likely on some cad program (like ME10, ME30, Autocad) or can be imported. If people can get the code listing for the ECM's, someone can get the drawings. H#ll, GM might be willing to part with a copy.
We can't duplicate the car, but we could duplicate the look.

pull a fast and the furious...and jack the truck...but with 3 black fieros and green neons. Once we get the cars, put them up for ransom, and tell gm to start remaking the fiero, then we MIGHT be give back. Anyone else think so?

How can you go to jail for stealing something that doesn't exist?
Its like Double Jeporady. You cannot be commited of killing a dead guy...I'm with you when you can't go to jail for stealing something that does not exist.
Send me in the right direction (Passwords, usernames, ect.) and I'll steal the CAD Designs. I'm a 3D Designer myself. That would be one hell of a Body Kit!
why stop at just replicating the body? do the intirior as well. then next year at the next 20th swap the cars and gm wont know tell they pop the lid or start the car. and by then the car is gone lol

I think the jail time for doing that would be zero, as their is no 89 prototype.
Oh, you meant the 90 prototype Well, you only go to jail if you get caught right? Just steal it long enough to carefully remove each panel to make molds off from and then carefully put them back on. When done, then put 90 back where it belongs or where they can easily find it and theirs no harm no foul.

Looks like they got rid of the "groove" along the top edge of the door panel. It had a "smooth" look to it!
Jim
Yep!! Interestingly, the "groove" was still in the dash, so that was a holdover from previous years.
Pic of the door:
I also liked the fact that the new radio/climate control surround was made of decent quality plastic or hard vinyl with a snap on plastic bezel. That would eliminate the "warpage" of our vinyl surrounds.

It's just a rebodied '88. the track was wider only because of different offset on the wheels. And that body must have added a few hundred pounds to an already overweight car.
Its no wonder they cancelled the Fiero. That thing would have been in direct competition with the Firebird.
Of course, I personally would rather have seen the Firebird cancelled, while production of a more svelte Fiero continued.
I'm sure most of you agree that it was definitely not the nicest fiero at the show.
GM should have been able to do better. I hope they were at the show and got some ideas.

How many people are reading this post? The trick is to steal it and move it around the country every month or so, I figure we could find a home for it in each state. . .
