Hey guys, I got into my first fiero accident and my first accident period tonight. I have a 4 yr no accident/no ticket streek and it went down the tube tonight...but this accident was not my fault. Some jerk ran threw a 1 way street. I was following 2 cars going the right way. I only thought I was following one guy as he was blocking my vision. He signaled to turn off this road right, and started braking...but when he made that right hand turn, 10 feet infront of me was a car stoped in the middle of the street cause this other guy was running head onto him...I swearved left(very icy by the way) and I saw this huge truck so I swearved back and had no choice but to rear end this other guy. I hit him pritty solid and instantly jumped out of my car and tryed to run after this guy who ran the one way on foot. It was no use, but we got his lisence and he's going to be charged with fleeing the scene and causeing and accident and what not(there was a cop at this intersection). The reason why I'm not so uterly mad is that there was no damage to the car that I rearended and only a broken signal light on my car. My facia is fine and everything. Fiero's rule!!! I was not hurt either so that I am thankfull for...I did bash my head on the windsheild though...but I'm fine. The fiero holds true to its safety ratings once again.

I know that is also true because in 84, fiero had highest safety rating Period.
Anyways I really need your guys help, I thought that it was just my light that was busted but I think something else is wrong. Is there a signal light relay of some kind? Cause now when my car is running my left signal light inside my car is on, but faint. And when I signal is is really really really slow. What could be wrong?

Thx in advance...

Glad to hear you're alright... If I'm not mistaken, the relay is located on the driver's side... The turn signal is slow because the bulb might be blown, and the faint turn indicator could be a result from a short or bad relay. Hope this helps.

You have a bad L side bulb, a broken T/S socket or a broken ground wire to the L T/S socket. Possibly more than one of these since it was crashed. Easy fix though. There is not a relay to the turn signals, it gets the power straight from the switch in the collum.

Head hits windshield means driver not wearing seatbelt or seatbelt isn't doing its job.

I'm glad there was only minimal damage and the person causing the accident is being tracked down.

You better take off your fascia and make sure of the damage. Because of the flex in the fascia it can appear to have no damage but you could have frame damage or radiator damage. Make them pay to have it done. Make sure your hood opens smoothly and doesn’t bind. Check and make sure the headlights work.

Thx guys, ya I wasen't wearing my seatbelt. little bump on the head wasen't to bad. If I would have been going faster there could have been problems. Ok, I figured one thing otu forsure tonight. My turn signal is actually stuck on. Its always on now. Doesen't signal. So what could be broken again? Where should I look for these things? Relay is under the drivers side headlight? Isn't that for the rad fan? How do I fix this. Redo the wires leading to my turn signal? Thx, any more detailed tips would be helpfull.

The relay that is there has nothing to do with the T/S. The reason that the dash light is on is because the circuit is searching backwards for a ground through the dash light bulb since no other one is preasant. It is either the bulb (you already said you know it is bad) the socket or the ground wire. You have the location down, the wrecked corner of the car.

The wires that run the turn signals and side marker lights run by the drivers headlight. They pass between the frame and the radiator mount. Check to make sure none of those are broken or smashed.

Yepir,

I once got caught up in some snow on the side of the road, went off the road and crunched into some small bendy trees.

Although there was no visible damage at first, after tow truck pulled me out to the tune of $85 my headlights were all screwed up. Took me a long time to figure out why. I read everything in this forum and every link I could find but all the solutions and checks did not make sense in my situation. Upon removing the facia i discovered the wires that run from the drivers side to the passenger side loop up and over the rail where the top of the facia is screwed in. Well, those wires were all mashed together due to my hitting the trees. A come-a-long fixed the bent rail, then I repaired the wires, and then i was able to fix the headlights.

I betcha you got the same deal. Look where the front edge of your hood meets the facia. Is very tight there?

Wear your seatbelt!

High crash ratings mean nothing if the driver is flying about the cabin.
