ok I may come off as a complete butthole.. but I'm cranky so deal with it.
but 2 yrs ago I loaned Fierokid87 $30 bucks to get a rear lense cover and some ignition part for his car? I was in Ohio at the time visiting him, but how does someone manage an engine swap and still can't pay me a lousy $30, you said you'd send it out after labor day never happened, check was sent out 2 weeks ago never got not sure whats goin on here, but I thought it was pretty nice to loan ya 30 when I was down there at the time.
that's my first priority when it comes to things pay people off before I do anything, I owe my parents and a few friends some money and I'm strivin like hell to pay them off.
wouldn't be as a big of a concern but when your jobless and bills are coming at you from which ever way its stressful yea 30 won't cover jack for bills, but every little amount I usually get goes to my parents.
Well, for what it's worth, If you loan money to friends, consider the money gone. If they pay you back, great. If not, you haven't lost a friendship over money.
Don't loan money if they aren't your friend without a legal contract.
Just my $.02, but you can apply that to his debt, if you like.
I hear ya, I sent him the V6 auto tranny mounts for his conversion last year, all I asked was for him to cover shipping. Never recieved anything for that. I brought this up here a few months ago, and he replied, but I still havent seen anything.
i loaned my best friend 800 bucks for new tires for his k5 blazer, well i never got my money back or did i ever see him again, he was killed in a car wreck 3 hours later
A lot of people here do things to help each other out of the goodness of their hearts.. This kind of thing just tarnishes the Fiero Community..
Just sad
JM
Well said, it really is sad when someone trys to help someone else out and then they get shafted for it. This is the kind of thing that makes good people, like LoW_KeY above, not want to help anyone anymore. The old lost in the mail routine is pretty lame too.

This is just sad , he has been online and tried to talk to me on several occasions , but he won't address this post.
It's one thing to flame people and get a rep as a troll , but ripping people off and empty promises is just sad... Thats just taking advantage of peoples generous nature.

Ok News Update here. I sent him a check. I never forgot him. Infact he said i owed him 30. I sent him 45. KC said he was going to post. He may mean when he gets the check. So I sent him 15 bucks more then what I owed him. Figured i made him wait for this long I would just send him more then what i owe

You've promised him a check several times before though. If i were him i think i'd wait to see it before i believed it too.

What would you suggest he do then? Email's and PM's had already been tryed. I would also like to point out that, if you read above, this wasn't the only person he's done this to. I would certainly like to know who can and cannot be trusted. How are we supposed to know that if everyone is not able to post anything about a bad experience with a forum member?

a few will always ruin the rest. First rule-never lend money to friends.
From my own experience here 1 example: sent a part to someone for free, just pay me the $5 shipping. (after I said I wouldnt ship even) Well now I dont ship anything anywhere untill I got the cash in hand. Its not the $5, thats just lunch tip money for Hooters, its the idea. Ive got tons of stuff here , some like new, that ill never use but nothing leaves here anymore till its paid for. after 2 months, the guy dont have $5, comeon.........

I agree roger, It's the idea behind the principal. What ever happened to the good ole days of a verbal agreement, and common courtesy.
Like you said the few dollars isn't gonna break us, but it's sad when you try and help a fella out, and recieve nothing in return. The point of at least paying for the shipping shows the person appreciates what you are doing for them.

Many years ago I loaned a guy I knew $30 to fix his car. A couple weeks later he and a woman were found in his car, at the local "lover's lane", half clothed, dead of carbon monoxide poisoning. To make things worse, she was married and her husband had no clue.

I never loan money to friends. I GIVE it to them. If they decide to pay it back, thats their decision. i have friends now that owe me money. and they have offered to pay. But I would rather hold it over their head just so I have something to hold against them.

Last year I "loaned" a friend around $1,400. Took them 8 months to finally pay me back.
There are several(3) PFF'ers who owe me money still. I think the sum is around $180. I don't even bother trying to get it. Its not worth the time or aggrivation, I just know not to deal with 2 of them anymore. One of them is a pretty well known and repsected member. He's probably forgotten, since I've never brought it up with him since the deal. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again, he's an honest guy who probably forgot.

I have a rule about giving friends money. First of all it's not a loan, because all of us on this thread topic has experinced the difficulty or never getting your money back.
#1 Never lend money without any strings attached.
#2 Since you will never see your money back, you have to barter it in another way.
#3 Best barter or Return of your money, what I call Return on Investment (ROI) is to make your friend that you lend money to always buy you drinks when you go out. Use the guilt tatic about lending the money.
Using these three rules. I have saved on beer and drinks much more than what the money I lended out. works all the time.

Actually he was in a 80 camaro that he got killed in, a semi ran a red light and creamed into the drivers side door at 60, he never felt a thing they said
