Heh, just found out I was in second place in my hp class on my last track event. Only car to beat me was a miata running slicks in Red group (I ran in yellow IIRC.)
http://speedventures.net/event_results.asp (click on Sears 03-30-2002, all results.)

Their next event is Streets of Willow Springs July 12th, Chris/Eric? You guys planning on going?

(PS: note the makes of the cars at that event, it was a good day to be behind, and infront of, some Ferraris )

Best!
Ben.

Awesome Eric!!! These guys; http://www.speedventures.net are great to race with btw. They don't over-charge, and they are like basically 'here's your track, don't pass anyone unless they wave you by, you can run as fast as you want, GO!'

PS: think I can wrangle a seat as a passenger in the 3.4DOHC Beast for a lap or two? ) <they do allow passangers, actually, my sig pic was taken with my passanger Dave waving at the sears event.> Slows the car down a few tenths, but you get to hear them scream!

LOL Tom ) I was sure blown away by this car, I expected to maybe not be the slowest car of the day, and I got there and was passing C5s! Sears is all turns though, and Willow has that 1/2mile back straight... So I don't think I'll do as well. Still amazed I did so well in my HP class.

Now all I've gotta do is get the new fender, and the konis in by the 12th )

Best!
Ben.

Ben - this is turned to a real thing now - if you could, fire off all the info for the racing and I will put it up on the Fieros West site and make it public - we might just get 20-25+ cars out there

if sales@westcoastfiero.com doesnt work, try boscolingus@yahoo.com

Found the site, and paid the entry fee. The info is on the web page, and we have several of the conversion cars going.....

Mike Murphy - 3800 Series II Turbocharged

Mike Morris - 3.4 hybrid

Larry Whitemore - 3800 Series II Supercharged

Chris West - 3.4 DOHC Turbocharged

with all these different swaps it may prove to have some interesting numbers and results, damn I can't wait

This is gonna be great!

The site, for anyone else intrested; http://www.speedventures.net !

That sure is a great veriaty of cars, I'll have my crap 2.8 for a baseline )

Got the konis from shox.com already, going to try and hurry up my coilover project (need bigger sleves for the 88s, and I've got to build some kind of 'sleeve spacer' in pieces... well, you'll see )

Not sure yet if I'll have to use bigger than 2.5" springs or not, that's the real biggie.

Best!
Ben.

From the site...

Our next event is Friday, July 12th, 2002

Price: $120 (+$20 instructor fee required for novices)

Duration: 1 day / 2.5 hours of track time per group!*

Track: Willow Springs Big Track (near Lancaster, CA)

Registration: Registration is open

Event Info:

Willow Springs is "The fastest track in the West", one of the few tracks where a fast street car can break 140mph. From the thrill of speeding through turn 8 at 120+mph to the "pucker factor" of getting the infamous turn 9 right, WSIR offers high-speed thrills found on few other tracks anywhere.

We will be running the full track in the clockwise direction (the only configuration normally run at Willow). As usual, we will be running three run groups, with five sessions per group, 30 minutes per session. Details on the day's schedule are available here.

Please note that some form of rollover protection is required at this track for convertibles. Cars equipped with stock hoops (S2000's, Z3's, etc.) are fine.

(I belive they will pass my t-top...)

Best!
Ben.

A little far for an unfinished car.
That sounds awesome, you californians have all the fun. Hmmm...that would be the perfect opportunity to test my new brakes though.
