Well, I finally got the rear clip removed. I'm kinda wishing I hadn't.
Anyways, it's not enough to scrap the car over, but I have decided NOT to do the 3.4 DOHC swap in this car.
We're going to repair/replace the upper frame rails and sheetmetal and restore the car to daily drivable status.
I'm seeking a CLEAN and CHEAP donor for the 3.4 DOHC swap now. I'd love to find a white '88 Formula manual with a blown motor down south somewhere for $1K or under...
Thanks.

Dam Triad ! What is next with that car!!! My gut feeling is that you should Kick that guys a$$ for selling you that headache..er..car!! You have had nothing but bad luck with it! I say save what you can and let the rust bugs eat the rest!! I think you would have a car on the road by now except for that crap that has gone on with it!
P.S. ......3.8SC all the way baby!!!!!!

Mike, for a donor car try this link out, Loyde. Loyde always has cars and can deliver if you can't pick up.
BTW, since it appears you are so far out do you want to wait on me sending you the wheels? There not in the way or anything so I can send them when ever you want.

84 Fiero SE (88 Pontiac Ad car motor and tranny being installed, T-tops, Fastback, Formula bumpers and Held Suspension being added) 84 Fiero IMSA Widebody (Centerlines, 3800SC & T-tops being added) 88 Formula (basically stock)
Good call on the car, make this one your driver/winter/parts-runner, and have a DOHC for your *fun* car, and for when the dam 2.8 brakes )
I'm sure you can find an 88 coupe (don't bother with a Formula, the ONLY differnce might be front springs, and lack of a rear 88 bar (a Formula/GT bar will bolt right in, the mounting holes are already there) The coupes are likely to be in better condition (less hp, not as trashed )
That's the secret to buying older classics too, eg a Vintage mustang. Get an I-6 car, the frame is all but sure to be sound! (and some teenager probally never beat the snot out of it )
Best! Ben.

Ouch.. looks painful.. Hmm, weren't u warned to get out that towel once you popped that clip off?? Its horrible to hear, hope you get that DOHC is something!!
that looks like my fiero.. which was demolished last week, I didn't have the money to fix it.. so I stripped everything off it, and it was cut up this week.. it was a sad sight to see....
That looks pretty bad. I had to stare at each picture fo about five minutes to understand which part of the car you were showing and I'm still not sure...
I'm glad that my car had virtually no rust anywhere...
