I finally get to hook up with another Fiero owner, and who did it happen to be? MinnGreenGT!!!! WOOOHOOOOO... The car of my dreams will now be the car I am tearing apart! Just kidding. Actually, I am headed down for the weekend so that Rob and I can install his Automotive Convenience System (Car Alarm/Remote Start for the non-technical people). I am looking forward to a great time this weekend, seeing as how I am spending it with a fellow Fiero guy. This will be my first Fiero anything, even if it is just haning out with one guy, but will still be fun looking at everything he has done with his car (Wanna see the taillights up close) and hearing all of his future secret plans. Anyways, if any other Twin Cities Fiero people are out there, I personally would not mind seeing what you guys have, and getting some ideas.
Lemme know what's up this weekend, maybe if Rob and I have time (I am committing him to this LOL) we can all get together and terrorize the streets of Minneapolis. But, if it snows, no go. Mine is a daily driver, and I don't want to expose those of you with Fieros that are sensitive to the cold. Hehehe

I might have some time sunday, if you're still gonna be down here. Gotta get some exhaust work done, so my car doesn't sound it's best, and it's a 'little' dirty..

Definitely cool. I am speaking with a friend down there about the possibility of crashing at his place on Saturday night so I am not imposing on MinnGreenGT and his wife. Would love to spend the weekend, just don't know too many peeps.
Oh hell, and here I was thinking that MinnGreenGT was gonna be pi$$ed at me for even remotely suggesting it LMAO. Hell, I can even bring down a Remote Start module or 3 for anyone interested. I even have a few security modules if someone wants car alarm, or power door locks in their otherwise unequipped vehicle. Entirely up to you guys.

Well I'm avail this weekend. Any chance to get a look at what my car could look like is appreciated. If you guys decide to turn this into a mini gathering shoot me some directions.
Unfortunately, I DO hafta charge for the Remote Start module, which is $150.00, but would be willing to forgo the installation fee in exchange for either car parts, or even a halfway decent tip. LOL... I have all the parts necessary to hook up the power trunk release so you can pop the decklid with the remote, as well as lock and unlock your existing power door locks. I also do Door lock installation if you do not have power servos. I saw a Fiero with a power sunroof once. He had a Spoiler style roof installed, which had a power assembly. If you have something similar, and power windows, I can do a Total Closure system as well. Basically, arm the security, and EVERYTHING rolls up, and closes. OR, on a rainy day, roll up the window, on a hot day, roll it down a hair. You know the routine. Would love to make it a mini get together, but it is entirely up to Rob. I think I may have blown a casual get together way out of proportion in my excitement to meet a fellow PFF member and Fiero owner. But, if we can do it, lets do it.

Oh yeah, the money part.. dang, I was hoping you'd forget about that
Not sure if I'll be able to scrounge up 150 bucks, depends on how big my paycheck is on friday. Still gotta figure out if I'll even be able to make it. I'll let ya know.
First of all- we need to realize that, although today is the 1st day of spring, snow is predicted for tonight- and the high temp on Saturday is expected to be only about 36degrees. Second- we will be woking on my GreenGT out a my parent's house- which is 7 miles west of Lakeville (10-15 miles south of Minneapolis off I35). So that being said... there are two options.
1. You guys can come down to my Parent's place and we can hang out there... you can see the place & a few of the cars there (couple of junker parts cars, Dad's Silver 88GT T-top, Brother's '79 Porsche 924, & a couple of Opel GTs). It'll probably be cold- but you're welcome if you want to make the haul. No matter the temp I was planning on grilling a couple of steaks- bring your own meat if you want to grill anything!
2. We can meet up somewhere after we're done with my installation for dinner & hangout (like the Perkins we've all hung out at off University Ave in St.Paul- see if there are any cruisers out early in the season). Or if anyone has any other ideas where we could possibly meet.
Synthesis- I don't know how late you're wanting to stay on Saturday... or if you just want to leave on Sunday morning? Up to you!

MinnGreenGT. If you think you can put up with me on Saturday night. I was gonna crash at a friend's Condo on Saturday night over in Mpls, but she is leaving for Mexico on Saturday afternoon, and I won't be able to swing by and get the keys before then. I can leave Saturday Night too. Entirely up to YOU! LOL. My intention was to spend the weekend in the Cities. As for at your parent's, I do not want to impose out there any longer than to get the system installed. I realize this was supposed to be a private thing more or less, but I just could not contain the excitement.
As for when I am leaving, and which route I will be taking? I am 4 hours north of the Cities, Approximately 190 miles, and the first hour of that is a lot of 30, 40 and 55 MPH zones. I will be heading down through Moose Lake to get to I-35... I will be taking I-35 East, through St Paul. I intend to leave here earlier than 5:30. The boss said I could go around 3:30 if the day is real slow. Which will put me in at a halfway reasonable hour.
My primary intentions are to get down there, install the stuff, get a few small parts for my car to get it back into halfway reasonable shape, and maybe hang out with MinnGreen for a little bit, and see what he has done to his car. Fieros are few and far between in as good a shape as Rob's is. And I would love to drool on it.. Ummm I mean look at it. Anything else, is just friend's with a common interest getting together. And ya'll can call me Synth, Syn or even SIN. Hehehe

It's up to you... the spare bedroom is a bit cluttered- but the bed has been recently cleaned off for another guest. You're welcome to stay Saturday night if you'd like. As for imposing on my parents... they're empty-nesters and don't mind when I bring a "crew" by the house (it wouldn't be the first time).
Don't worry about making it a public invite... I was thinking of doing the same thing.
We'll tenatively plan this... if you're interested in checking out our "collection" in the middle of nowhere- you're certainly welcome to. But for those that really just want to get together and hang out- let's plan to meet someplace on Saturday evening. What are people's thought's on Perkins off Snelling & University in St.Paul? It's probably too early in the season for the really good cruisers to be out- but it's a pretty good central place.
Thoughts?

Spare bedrooms and clutter are my thing... As long as there are Fiero parts on the floor, I am a happy man. LOL. As for the Parents thing, definitely cool. My Father is still raising my kid brother (he is 18) so he can't wait till he leaves LOL. The porsche sounds nice. I owned one for a time. Bought it off of my Cousin for 500 bucks. He hit a telephone pole with it. Ended up selling it for cost to a porsche collector. Me personally? I think it would be cool if 6 or 10 or 300 Fieros were to converge on one spot in the Cities. LOL. Invasion of the little car that they said couldn't, and did! LOL

Now that I think about it FieroHoHo... Tell you what, you are in Mora. I know where Mora Unclaimed Freight is, I can take 65 down, not a biggy. Is actually CLOSER for me, seeing as how I work on Hwy 65 WAY UP NORTH. McGregor will kill my shocks even worse, but we can hook up if ya want. Would definitely be cool... I would not be able to stay too long though... Not if I am gonna make it down there fast.
Hey MinnGreenGT, I wouldn't mind a get together on Saturday night! I'm off work around 5 on saturday and would love to drive down to meet fellow enthusiasts. I can also help with the install if you like, done that many times. Let me know approx. directions from I-94 Thanks I can't wait.

fierogonracn... by 5pm we hopefully will have already finished the install (that and it's difficult to fit 2 people under the dash of a Fiero ). But you should definitely plan on meeting up with us in St.Paul!
Keep an eye on this thread and I'll post more specific info as others respond to decide the best time & location.

Oh, guys, my 86SE had a spoiler, I took it off because one of the studs broke. If any of you fellow Minnesotans have a spare stud, nut, and hopefully one or two of the black spacers that go between the spoiler and the decklid, I would be SO Happy. I wanna put my spoiler back on.... It doesn't look bad without it, but would prefer to have it.

Synthesis, turns out my weekend is cluttered enough to keep me in Mora, if you head home on Sunday? you're welcome to stop in, I'll give you the nickle tour of my place, time shouldn't be an issue for me Sunday. Let me know on this post if you want to stop by and I'll post directions and a couple phone numbers so I know when to expect you.

Hey man, that sounds real good. Would love to see your car, and if you have any junkers, maybe we can work out a trade for parts. I will be headed home on Sunday, so will be sure to take Hwy 65 up just so I can swing through Mora and see ya. Email me at north65@uslink.net with the address and phone numbers... That way, if I need to call you I can on the way through. This is a big trek for me, so I am gonna make it worth it and do my usual blank stared gaping jaw tourist thing. Might as well go for broke on this trip..

Karl, thought you'd have that pump in by now. I have a thought, as I have weekends off through April is there any way you could get your car to Mora, maybe someone has a car dolly? I would be glad to help you with the fuel pump, my shop is heated and if you're up for it so am I. Just a thought, Steve.

hehehehehe, we could do the Fuel pump. LOL I can have it out and in in less than an hour. I have changed mine 3 times.... My car flooded bad last night. Had to drop to 28lb Injectors... My fuel regulator is having issues as well... I suspect the diaphragm is bad... So I will change it with a used one I have here today. That should eliminate the issue. My Fuel pump was running until the pressure built up so much it stalled.... UPDATE Pressure Regulator solved the problem, I lost a little bit of power, but not too much. My take-offs won't be as quick... My QM time will probably go up as well... Last run was 13.43/97mph in the QM.
Will have to redyno the car now... *Sigh* Anyways, looking forward to the get together with you guys. As for the Perkins thing, if I start on the install around 10 AM, I SHOULD be outta there around 2 PM to be safe. Possibly a tad later...
I can't find the charger for my cordless drill, so MinnGreenGT. I may need a drill when I get there with some drill bits..

well, i just got the pump yesterday. i don't know anyone wiht a car dolly. i've flat towed fieros long distances before, but i'm still not crazy about it. last timeit was so cold i couldn't feel my feet.
the only problem is that the fuel tank is full. died minutes after i filled it up. oh well. i'll get 'round to it soon enough. it'll be running by the time it warms up.
if anyone is good at these things though, i'd greatly appreciate the help. it would have to be in my garage because that's where it is and that's where it's staying til it's fixed.
Well... I'm back- sorry no posts yesterday (I actually had to work All Day)
OK Here's the official plan. Synthesis is coming in Tonight (Friday). Saturday morning we're headed out to my Parent's place and we'll probably be there from about 10am to about 2-3pm. Then we'll plan on meeting at Perkin's in St.Paul on the corner of University & Snelling between 5:30pm-6:00pm
Directions to Perkins: From just about anywhere... get on I-94 headed toward's St.Paul (for those on the east side of town: go west. for those on the west side of town: go east. ) Get off on the Snelling Avenue (fairgrounds) exit. Go north about 1-3 blocks and turn right at the light immediately before University avenue- this will bring you into the parking area of a strip mall (I believe Rainbow foods is one of the 1st things there). Anyway there is a McDonald (or BK) in the part of the lot... you should see Perkin's just past that.
And if you happen to miss the first light- just turn right onto University, then another right into the parking area... it's pretty simple!
Oh yeah... if you are close- but lost. Just call my cell phone: 612-414-6629 and I can help with directions!

Oh yeah, and I just installed my last Security/Remote Start module, so I will not have any spares on hand...
