My signature shows my daily driver SE 4.9. I also say that it is one of 2, well - here's the second.
For those of you that were monitoring this years failed project car (ran out of time), I am enclosing photos of the car being built for next years Challenge.
It was an '88 GT originally started by Christian Gallardo, I have rid it of the 2.8 he had in it, and am working a carb'd 4.9 to put in front of the worked 2.84:1 ratio TH125.
The car will be autocrossed in EM and taken to the strip a few times toward the end of this season just to "dial it in", and will be built for under the $2003 cap. Monitor it's progress at: GrassrootsChallengeFiero@yahoogroups.com
See it (maybe even buy it) at the Swap Meet

You are allowed any tires that you can fit in the budget. For the unfinished '86 I started for this years Challenge, I had drag radials for the drags (205/50/14) and the original BFG R-1 (208 compound) in 195/60/14 for autocrossing - - all 6 were on stock rims - -. Now I will just put these on my SE when I go out to play.
I will be using "R" tires, probably Kumho's on the 88's 15" rims, also a pair of drag radials for the strip portion of the Challenge.
Speaking of GRM, the article about Fieros is about 3/4 done. Watch the June or July issue.

Cool George! I've been following this by email as well. (good time to post a link to the list
Sounds like it's all for the best that it didn't happen last year (water=bad!) and now you'll have a whole year to prepare!
How are you on parts? I know PFF can come up with some "$20" pieces of gear (to play fair, prices have to be what normal people would willingly sell their parts for... but we can streatch that to include what normal people would sell their parts for... to a good friend... or when hypnotised or something... So, no newly purchased N02 systems for $5, but a roolbar for $20 may be nice?
Send us your desires!
Best! Ben.

Actually, the ones that My7Fieros took at the Factory is just the way the car is now, the ones I posted in the $2003 GRM Challenge thread were the "before" pics (didn't have any recent ones to post).

Until I get the car home and in the garage, I can't be sure what the car needs.
I have a lot of "stuff" I acquired for the original car, but it is an early chassis with an '88 cradle (my choice setup for autocrossing). So I am not sure what all I do need yet - need to sort it all out.
This car already has an aluminum seat. It is Brand X - a Kirkey - not the product line I sell. So I don't know what seat the car will end up with, for example. Anyway, the used seat I acquired for the "other" car (and the burned '88 cradle I was going to paint and use) will be available CHEAP at the swap meet.
One thing I know I need - the Grant steering wheel is permanent, makes getting in and out of that seat difficult. I need the adapter for steering wheel removal - - and I need it BAD. Can't get my fat, old timers body in there without a great deal of grunting and groaning
Got any of those $5 Nitrous kits? Actually, the rollbar would be awesome, too - -

Cadero, what did the 14" R-1s cost. I was looking at the Tire Rack for some Comp. tires for my extra set of Hi-Tech rims and they only listed Hoosiers at a whopping $159 apiece. That's what I paid for 245/50/16 R-1s on my Z28.

I got the last 4 BFG R-1 (orignal 208 compound) that they had at Tire rack.
There is a gentleman on the Racing List that has some 14" BFG's he has been trying to sell. If interested, send me a PM.
Otherwise, I would consider going the Kumho route.
Also, the parent corporation of Falken tires has tossed their hats in the ring as sponsors for Solo II this year - I don't know what "R" tire they offer yet. Stay tuned!!

Are you referring to the used RACE seat, or a stock fiero seat? If it's a race seat, I'm very interested. Shoot me a PM if you prefer.
