I recently received an email from Eddy Snaaw regarding his dash molds. It appears that he decided to toss out his mother molds and he's sold his car (that had the original custom dash in it). I was hoping that someone with some fiberglassing knowledge and a marketing system (possibly Sage/Reality and 007Doug) could buy these and start producing the interiors. This is not to be. Eddy said that he would try to find Scott Tildens address so someone in the Las Vegas area might be able to contact him. Maybe he'll sell the molds. I'm so very disappointed. Not in Eddy, but in Scott Tilden. They were Eddys molds and he could do with them whatever he wanted. He said that he didn't want anyone to think that he was selling the molds twice. I can understand that, I guess.

Anyway, I just thought I'd bring this to everyones attention. Because of Scott Tilden (may he get boils on his boils), we will probably never see the interior go into production. A sad day as far as I'm concerned.

If anyone is interested in trying to buy the molds and not only has the fiberglassing knowledge to make this but has the intention of actually doing it, please email me. If I am able to get Scott (worthless loser) Tildens address, I'll know where to forward it.

I Know Eddy.
He is finished with this project and it seems he wants to get rid of everything associated with it...I was able to buy his molds (not the molds itself but the original mockups; where the molds are made from) but I'm not a business and it would take too much time/money for me to make only one dash out of it so I let it go....He sold one car with one of his dashes (second one, first one in his own car) to a someone who appeared a "friend" of a dutch commercial fiero/kitcar company so I am sure it will be copied (they're bastards, don't do business with them, they ****up customers)! Eddy surely knew it but he was finished with this project so he let it go....

This is all from my memory, it happend last year. I'm not sure he has the originals anymore, maybe he threw them away. But if there's enough interest maybe I can contact him, for fierosake...
BUT I'm almost sure that when he sold his molds to this guy in the US he did it with an agreement no to sell any copies to the US. Has to be figured out but I'm open to any suggestions...If so I will contact Eddy, maybe he'll talk to me ;-)

bytheway: its a really fine looking dash! Best one compared to much of the "wraparound" **** and fierraristuff with just the wrong dimensions.
Eddy put a lot of time and enginering in it so have some respect for that! ;-)

greetings from the Netherlands,
yes we have Fiero's too!!

Apparently, Scott Tilden has made at least one dash, but has butchered it terribly. He sort of has a website, too. You can view what he has here. According to Eddy Snaaw, Scott wants $2400 for a dash. Waaaaay too much money, especially for what he's butchered. Here are some pics of Scott Tildens "creation" (please remember that Dr. Frankensteins monster was a "creation", too). If only Scott had left Eddys' interior alone he might have been able to sell them.

I'll critique it later as well as post all of Scott Tildens current info regarding his email addys, snail mail addy and phone number. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. As I said, why couldn't he have left Eddys' dash alone?!!

I don't think that Scott's version looks too bad. Just a different color.
Don't know about the instruments, though. I'd do something different. Without the chrome.

The changes I noticed were the vents are no longer fiero style, there is an additional vent between the glove box and center, the door handle lights are larger and moved, the glove box has a push button latch, and there is a sub-woofer the the center console. I kinda liked the original myself, and $2400 is way to much to ask.

The switches that were originally in the dash (just in front of the shifter) are gone (who knows where), there are cut outs for 2 speakers in the dash were Eddy just had a cover for one speaker. For someone like myself who isn't using any dash speakers at all, this poses a problem. Instead of having one decent looking, covered hole, I'd now have two hole to contend with. Scott has also lost Eddys hideaway glove box under the armrest. There are two sets of vents on the sides of a Fiero dash for a reason. One set (smaller and on top) is for defrosting the side windows, while the other (more normal looking) vent is for heating/cooling of the passenger compartment. I don't think just having one vent would do the trick. (Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) He's also mangled the doors. The way the vinyl is layed under the door handle is hideous. (You can see it better in the original pics I have. Much larger and a much higher resolution. If I had posted those here, some of us with dial up modems would still be waiting for them to load next week. )

Maybe part of the problem is that the dash isn't finished. The p/mirror switch isn't installed (and wouldn't be on mine anyway) and there's no stereo, just and empty hole. Also, those gauges have to go. I don't know if it's still possible to install stock gauges or not. Another problem that I see which may or may not reflect the quality of Scotts dash is the covering. You can see where it's obviously not a "professional" quality job. Last, but certainly not least, I wouldn't pay $2400 for any interior. Period. Twice as expensive as it needs to be. Scott may have altered a few things, but he didn't really have any R&D in this. It looks to me like he's just out to make a buck. Just because he owns a Fiero doesn't mean that he's "into" them.

Just so that anyone doesn't think that I'm on an "I hate Scott" kick, there are a few things that I do like. I like the aftermarket aux gauges. I think they look better than the original (stock) gauges. I also like the fact that the ECM cover is now covered.

I'm done ranting and raving for now. I'll go back and edit some of the higher quality original pics and see if I can change anything (like adding a stereo and an original stock gauge cluster) to make it look better. (I still want to know where the switches went.)

Monk, correct me if I'm wrong, but I had posted a thread or a reply to a thread about this along time ago. Last year about this time, I saw Eddy's molds for sale on E-Bay. The seller, after further investigation, was Scott Tilden. Now I don't know if he ever met his reserve and actually sold the molds. It's a shame that some D!ck Head like Scott had to squander such a prize. Hell any good businessman would have made a small fortune with that kit. To bad for the Fiero Community.

Peace, B2 OUT!

I vaguely (sp?) recall that. It seems to me that Scott must still have them if he's trying to sell dashes. Since you live in Vegas (don't you?), maybe you could pay Scott a little visit and suggest that he sell the molds since he obviously isn't going to sell any dashes.

falcon... short verson of a possilby long story:

Eddie produced a custom dash (shown above with tan interior) which he was not going to sell any production copies in the US. So he sold a copy of the molds to Scott Tilden (in Las Vegas) so that he could be the US producer. Well, the gray one shown above is the ONLY production piece anyone has seen in the US- I emailed him myself and recieved a quote for $2500 or more for the dash (it was finished, but still). Anyway- he seems to have not made any moves to actually produce these for the US Fiero community- and we want it!

I know the guys from Innovation very well, and although they can be a bit weird at times (make sure you are not around during lunch time - they love food-fights!) I don't think they will ever screw anyone over. In fact, their service has always been outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone. I can remember one time my Fiero broke down because of a broken distributor cap and they drove for over 45 minutes just to bring me a distributor cap immediately. I was duly impressed by that.

Anyway, this is my personal experience so I can't talk for anyone else.

I'm in no way affiliated with Innovation (although they did buy a few of my digital dashes ).

About Innovation; they are almost the only fiero-specialized company in the netherlands and they have enough work. So they rush a lot of things or forget them and if you're not satisfied well thats "your problem" (to say it bluntly). So there are people who have trouble with them. It seems that if you are a friend of them you are helped in a much better way. I don't like that approach for a company. Last year I had quite some work done by them and a lot of things were done very bad. I had to do it over myself. When I bring my Fiero to a shop I expect and pay for a better job then doing the job myself.
I do know them very well though and they can deliver good work but be aware when you do business with them.....that's all I can say.

Hmm I see... I think that goes for a lot of companies though. Especially when they have a monopoly. I've learned my lesson when it comes to taking good products/service for granted

But thanks for the info

I spoke with a few people who had the same experiences with work done by these people.
I try to stay neutral in this matter but my car wont be repaired there.
The people I spoke with all have some technical insight and discover bad work earlier than someone who doesnt even check the oil-level.
Its sad, because they could be very big.
BTW I believe they sell Eddys dash too.

Roderick, leuk weer wat van je te lezen. Alles goed?:-)

I saw Eddy's dash on their site btw, man that dash looks great (it's the same pic as minn posted)

Folks, I remember see that dash on Eddy's web page, and he didn't create just a dash...there were also door panels as well as a new center console/computer cover. All in all, it is a piece of art worth of mounting in anyones Fiero. While $2400.00 may sound a bit excessive for just a dash, is that all that is being offered? I thought I was looking at a whole new interior. I just can't imagine puting that in my car without the other pieces (door panels, et al.). If you check PISA's website, their wrap-around dash costs $1200.00, and their door panels costs $600.00. Grand total: $1800.00. Maybe $2400.00 sounds a bit much; $2000.00 sounds about right. JMO. I just hope to it hit the market soon.

I know Innovation has the dash. Eddy sold one together with his project car to someone who was sent by Innovation (!) All in all it's a strange story...so I brought the subject on when I met them (Barry) at a show (speed 2001) last summer and he confirmed that they had the dash and they were modifying it for production. I'm almost certain that it is in production or will be anytime soon.

-------
Lekgarage in Amsterdam is a nice alternative and even some GM (usa-cars!) dealers can be of good help when you're lucky. Van Voorden in Hilversum gave some good help last time, they even lent me a specialized tool some weeks ago...! They have also seen too many messed up fieros :-(

Hi Ries nice to see you here too ;-)))
dutch mailinglists are quite quiet these days......

Ah cool, thanks! Now I have at least the opportunity to shop around a bit!

Btw, I already thought I had seen Eddy's dash on the Innovation site. It looks really great, but it's f 4250,- or something like that. That's more than some Fiero's cost...
