Yeah, PFF was getting a little quiet, so I decided to start my own anti-terrorist campaign. You see I happen to know that Osama owns an MR2 and belongs to PFF so that he can spy on us. I figure that if I post enough pictures up he'll just get so upset that he'll kill himself.
So TAKE THIS!!!!!!

Sorry everyone, looks like we gotta ruin another good thread just to deal with this same pest again....
Now Little Eric....
Maybe I should start jumping into your threads and start taking shots at you.
What seems to be your problem? You're nothing but a "Pest". You don't like the Air Cleaner on one car..... tough $hit.... get over it.. who cares. That isn't what it's about..... It's about you just wanting to try me out again.
Well put this on for size....
Last time you highjacked one of my threads you went away crying..... you wanna try me again? Or are you gonna wait for your little punk buddies to chime in first?
We already know that everytime you take me on you always trip over your own words. Remember the Journalism Major that can't spell, etc. We are all still laughing at you about that one.
So, come on punk, make my day.

He doesn't know anything. He told me that when my intake tube gets warm it contracts because it uses the stock intake tube and not metal. I had never heard of anything contracting when it gets warm. After a statement like that I wouldn't buy anything from West Coast Fiero.....

and you do? aren't you the one who has a mickey mouse homemade intake coming up into the vent where heat is escaping and water can get all over the filter when it rains or you wash your car.
and all he was saying was rubber contracts more than metal.

I for one dont know archie or west coast. But I do know west coast is very jealous of archie and his talents just form the posts I have read. I for one would buy from archie since he is closer to me and so motivated for the fiero. As for west coast, all I have sen is you slamming archie adn trying to get everyoen to buy your stuff. A word to the wise, I am in business also, If you have to worry about your competiton then you are doing something wrong and you will go out of business. Concentrate on yoru business not everyone elses and you will be a success. Look at the Rodney and Fiero store posts. Rodney isnt going after the fiero store, but man they are after him.

AAAAH yes......rubber contracting more than metal. I dont know anything that CONTRACTS when it gets warm.
And about the mickey mouse intake....which is better? Spending about $20 and making something on my own or paying $175 for something because I am not quick enough to think on my own? You must just be jealous because you couldnt think of anything so you spent the $175. I'm sorry.

I agree completely, I dont know either of them, but I do know when I decide toa nd get the money to, I will be travelling to see Archie
As far as the other comment with the mickey mouse homemade intake, I find its up to personal perferences..
If I like something.. I will put it on.. As with others on here, I am not out to impress anyone.. And If I can create a homemade part for $20 that will do the job instead of putting out $200 and save some of my hard earned money.. Thats what I will do!!
I think a few on here should grow up some and if they want to run a successful business.... ACT PROFESSIONAL..
WE all have a common interest, most of us do it for the love of these cars, but it looks like others do it only for the love of the money..

I'd love to see a finale with an LS1.. with a custom engine cover, done in a brushed nickel finish, with some dark cobalt blue accents.. (I've seen this done on several new street rods, looks awesome)
Ok...not to keep kicking a dead horse or anything...but if the intake I made is contracting when it gets warm...why did the GM engineers use it on the car? All I used was the stock tube that goes from the plenum to the air box....but used a cone filter instead of the air box! So if it contracts when it heats up GM engineers don't know anything.
Heat shrink tubing is made from a different material than rubber. Why would GM put heat shrink tubing on their intake that goes OVER the exhaust pipe? That would be just plane stupid!
Also...does your radiator tube expand or contract when it gets warm???? Just a question. If it contracted, even the pressure (15psi) of the coolant would not be able to keep it the same size as when it is cold. I am not trying to piss anyone off...I just don't care too much for people who think they know everything so they have to try and point out how "stupid" others are.

Cliff, that reminds me of the Seinfels episode with George and his "shrinkage". Too funny. I am not sure whats up with West Coast Fiero. This is not the first thread where I have seen such immature and embarassing behaviuor. If it was your "Everyday Joe" acting so stupid most people would just shrug it off. But when you are representing your business to such a small community such as the Fiero market, you would think they have a little more intelligence and class. I have come to expect little from them in terms of intelligence, which is too bad because with such a small community you would hope for as many specialty retilers as possible.

Dang I'd love to own those 2 cars...I for one do like the Aircleaner assembly thank you.
One thing on the comment about the "mickey moused" intake...Well, I do take pride in things I do myself. I'm sure we all do. I'd feel a whole lot better spending $20, and doing it myself then feeling I'v spent $200 for someone else to do somthing I could have done myself for $20 and take the pride and joy of thinking Hey, I did that myself. I think its extreamly inconsiderate calling something someone took the time to do and create without paying someone else to do it, a "Mickey Mouse" design...

They use rubber because that particular material is heat-resistand AND flexible. Rubber is also a good insulator. The air charge is sheilded somewhat from ambiant temperatures in the engine bay. Metal soaks up heat and radiates it. Metal intakes aren't as good because of this The shrinkage is on the same order as metal: Talking several thousandths. Not enough to make an appreciable difference in airflow. IMHO, the losses incurred by "shrinking intake" are negligeable when compared to how much the air charge temp shoots up by having a nice heat conductor piping the air in
If anyone's concerned about heating up a metal intake tube, why not get it ceramic coated? If it works for headers, I don't see why not for intake tubes.
