Here is the link to the pic that Archie posted with the Finale front and Fino rear. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/007883.html I saw the Finale at the carshow on Sunday, I like the decklid backend better than the hatch glass too. I've seen both in person.

Next to some 355 kits, this is my fav too. But since day one I have always said that the rear end just does not look right, something about the "cutout" or "recess" area around the backside of the wheel. I agree the rear end needs some work for me, the front is kick a$$ and I also like the fino mid-rear end treetment. Maybe someday someone will get one and make a change to the rearend that others can copy. IMO

I would like to see something like a late 90's Trans Am rear end, something more muscular.
The beauty of doing a re-body that is not a replica of a Ferrari or something is that you can make changes to it to make it your very own unique automobile. When making a "Replica" of another car, you usually try to replicate all if it's features, even the features you don't like.
Every since I bought Candy Apple Cars, I've looked at a lot of tail lights while driving down the road. If you look around a bit you'll find that there are several cars which have tallights that would work well with these cars.
Some of the guys on this forum are pretty good with editing photos. Maybe we can take some pics. of various tail lights and "plug" them into the back of a Fino.

Personally, I love the Finale just the way it is.. If I could afford it, my T-top would become a Finale instead of a fastback Indy clone... Run a sale, Archie! hehe

Hey maybe we can convince Archie to raffle off a body kit at the 2002 NIFE Fierorama! What do ya say Archie?

i definately dont want to be mean, but couldnt the kits be a lot cheaper? they cant be too expensive to produce after a mold is made. especially if there was more sales of them, they could be a lot cheaper, no? maybe there is a good reason, but i fail to see it i guess

underdog--Sure they could be cheaper, but...There's alot going into a kit. You have to recover the cost of either R & D or purchasing the molds, labor to make each kit, assemble same (put all the parts into the same box), etc. Then there's the profit factor. Archie (as well as all the rest) is in this business to make money (I'm guessing this is his only means of income, but I didn't ask). He has to decide how much money he wants to clear when he sells a kit. I don't even know how much the kits sell for (personally I want one of AusFieros "kits" when he makes them--sorry Archie ), but it's probably in line with what you can get elsewhere.
This is not a plug for Archie. I don't know the man nor have I ever purchased anything from him (no way I can afford a SBC) although I don't have anything against him, either.

Cars are probably only about $2k worth of steel, glass, rubber, carpet, etc. why charge $20k+ for them?
I have no idea since I have never seen one of these cars, but I would say all of those vents are functional. If not, they are sure missing a chance to throw some hot air out the back of the car...
Originally posted by DaRkLoRD: I just realized the Finales have that vent too..
The center vent is a personal item we thought would look good on the back end. Kinda optional, another thing you can do to personalize your Finale or Fino. I'm not using it ont the 2 cars we have in process now. NOW, I think it looks better without it.
The vents around the rear clip do in fact aid in venting the engine compartment. I guarantee that the engine compartments in the Fino & Finale are a lot cooler than any stock bodied Fiero.
The Blue car with the Miata tail lights was at the Daytona show last year. Another way to personalize your car. Note how the Miata light curves to match the body lines.
Miata lights look pretty good however, when they are turned on, they have only one tail light bulb. IMHO, I think the cars need more than one little bulb lit up across the back of the car.
Next time you are driving around town, look at the tail lights of the car in front of you & remembering the contour of the Fino/Finale body think of which lights would look cool in that car.
Besides, looking at tail lights is a lot safer than looking at the girls walking down to the beach.

I liked the ones on a Mazda 929. And Sable lights are a possibility, but the line is interrupted by the trunk lid, if that makes any big woof. Seems like I saw a Lincoln TownCar that I thought would work, but not sure of the model year although fairly recent.

Actually, it's not too bad at all. Just a little more inconvienent than a 86-88 GT. To increase engine access on the Finale I'm building right now will have the right 1/4 window removable.

I think I already posted these but the brains still a bit screwed up. Not sure now.
Anyone got any tail light pics at the right angles for this car and I will try them out too.
By the way Archie I can supply you with the above tail lights for about $100 a set new if your interested. The white ones can have coloured bulbs. All are reflective lenses. Just email me if you want to know more.
Other things we discussed are also underway soon too. I have another Fiero arriving in a few weeks to play with.

Did you consider painting it like a P-40 Flying Tiger? I might have to try that with my photo editor some time. It would put some fear into the imports, eh?
