I decided I wanted some white face guages. I have an '84 which has an 85 mph, and the volts in the tach. I took Aus's very well done faces and edited them heavily. Thank you Aus! Apparently fierofrek and I were doing the same things tonight because he also did some. See: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/007977.html I also borrowed Slammed's idea for the pegasus in the speedo. To make these ones just print em on full size label sheets, and cut em out. Worked great for me, though Im sure there are better ways to do it.
I also wanted them to be lit up green. Since they are the early reflectorized kind I painted the orange panal white to start with and them painted it flor. green. Worked really really well. Not too bright, just perfect. unfortunatly I cant show pics cause my camera doesnt work too well at night.

Thats pretty sweet... unfortunatly, my printer doesn't do well with anything photographic. I have a hard enough time with just simple graphics. Cool stuff though.
bubble jet. It came with the puter (hp) and has always been like that. Im probably gonna reprint em somewhere else, just to make it a little better, Im gonna go tak a pic now that its light out....
Well, what do I expect for a $100 cam.. oh well, you get the general idea.
Now is that your dash.. or someone else's that you designed?

One thing with AUS's though, since his was in km/h and 180 at that, as opposed to 140 I think. (like how you can have 85 mph and 120 mph) I did a little math and figured that for about every 11 of his mrks, it equaled about 10 mph, so I had to go in and adjust the bold marks and long ones like so... and I also used the same template for the tach, only it was like 14.5 marks to every 1000 rpms.. lol
Well, there were some things bugging me about the faces I made, so I redid them. I especally didnt like the jpg fuzz that shows up. (I cam be a perfectionist sometimes) These pics are just scaled down jpgs, but if you want to actually use the images click on the links to give full bmps. Once again thanks to Ausfiero for getting me started on this. One thing I would like to know is how he got the little hash marks so perfect... anyways...

Well, not right off hand, but I'm sure it would be easy to swap the pegasus for a horse and put ferrari instead of pontiac racing... I'm also assuming that you use the oil pres. gauge and not the volts in the tach.. well, its late/early, and I have a full day tomorrow. I'll spend some time on it tomorrow eve.
Oh btw, I have seen "Ferrari" written commonly in 2 different styles, one with the top of the F going over the whole word and one without, which one in your opinion looks better? if you go to www.ferrari.it i think you can see what I mean.

are you guys just printing them out and putting them in the car?
I thought you had to get them made or something? I have the rear lit ones I think and I want white gauges but I dont have any idea how your doing this.
Formula your not the only one that's confused.I'm not good with laser printing from the computer,so I just ordered a set from that guy that showed up on Ebay awhile back. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the color extremely bright in the dash.I think I'm gonna go with those Hotwirez neon wire that run off of a 12v source and I might have to bury them in the back of the pod to keep it from being too bright.I'm going for a psuedo Indiglo look.Blue,Blue,Blue

I wonder how bright the white face plates would be if you were to install those little neon black lights available in pep boys? It would look even better if the face plate colors were florescent.

yep, I took a pic of the original gauge, then "super" imposed it over a blank work area, then made the MPH marks, and then made the back round whatever color i wanted. Then i just print them out, and glued it to the gauges in the car. I used photo paper to give it a glossy look ( I have backlit gauges) and glued tin foil on the back of everything. I now have to "dim" the dash lights too bright.
as for "blacklight", it looks awsome, I have blacklights set up along the back window, and they make the gauges a perfect blue, and not to bright, but not to dim. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/fierofrek
PS, I forgot to put the temp needle back on. DOH!! I know already! LOL

Sorry Ive been away from the computer for a bit, but I whole-heartedly agree with Aus. I used his as a template. I'll still try to come up with something, though Im sure Aus could do it better, *bowing to superior graphics talent*. But I think it would be bad form to accept money for selling someones elses work, especally when they were offering it for free, even if I did edit it slightly.
BTW Thanks for enlighting me/us about the size problem in the other thread. That makes a lot of sense, and to think I was actually measuring the gauge and resizing the image... lol. though it did work. Well I have to go clean my house here (or else my wife will kill me, but hopefully I'll sit down later and catch up with the rest of the forum and make that ferrari gauge if anyone still wants it.
Cheers,
Ted
