Ok someone suggested it, Songman I think, that some of us home gauge printers should just post the images. Well as I have no interest in marketing the gauge faces. Here is the first lot of images. More styles and colours coming.
Oh...and could someone post a good front on pic of a MPH gauge face so I can make the matching sets Preferably in extremely high resolution and image size from a dead front view. Preferably a face out of the gauge panel.
Backlit Green - White Face
Print the black and green sections on think self adhesive laminating sheets (available at most office supply stores). Or for better results pay a printer to do that part, they do a heaps better job. I have a high quality printer but nothing compared to the pros when I first played with them.
Print the white faces on good quality thin white paper. The more purer the white the better.
Lay your black faces on a good light source (I taped mine to my monitor on its back with a white screen showing. Kinda like a poormans lightbox.Use one of them if you have one.).
Cut your warning light areas out of the white faces of the GT center gauges if using them. Cut small sections of laminating sheet to the same size as the holes and keep them for later. Do not cut out the holes for anything other than the warning lights yet.
Next align your white faces over the now sticky side up laminating sheet (thats why the backlit pics are back to front)and be real careful to align the black lines centrally on the larger green lines other wise it just won't work.
Grab the little pieces of laminating sheet you cut out before and stick them over the GT centre fascia warning lights. This builds up the level to match the paper (approximately).
Now stick another sheet of self adhesive laminating sheet over the white faces from the front being careful to have no air bubbles all the way through the process. Do the same from the black back face to protect the printing and build up thickness.
Then being real careful with a sharp hobby knife cut out anything that is left grey.
Take your old gauge faces off. They are glued on with contact and relatively easy to remove. Clean up the backing and glue the new ones on with spray on contact cement following the directions on the can.
To make your gauges backlit green obtain some green bulbs, paint everything in sight that you can inside the gauge panel with flurescent green paint. Don't paint the electricals or anything like that though. You will have to play around with other bits of your dash and switches for the same effect. Optional anyway.
Scrape the orange paint off your gauge needles and sand with 1200 wet and dry sandpaper until there is no trace of orange left. spray 1 coat of fluro green on the backs of the needles. Remove any excess paint, if any, from the front of the needles while still wet.
Re-assemble and enjoy.
If you get an small air bubbles which sticking the layers together prick them with a pin and work the air out as a last resort.
Now the pics. Yes the look huge online, but this is the net. They print at the correct sizes

I thought more people would be interested in this. I was going to do a whole heap of different colours and styles but it looks like I would be wasting my time

That is cool. Thanks Aus. Can you do that for a Suzuki Grand Vitara? My wife wants to do hers up but can't find any aftermarket stuff for it here? Anything in Australia? Say like Altezza style lights?

There is some pics floating around the forum of the daytime install. I would take some night pictures but I have stripped my car and have bits everywhere while I am developing all the new products, bodykit etc.
I will say though if you don't get a professional printer to do the back sections you will have to double up on the black with the last layer to block unwanted light.
For better back lighting spray everything you can see fluro and if you can find them green fluro lights really top it off. I am using green globes but feel it could be better. The fluro is available but it is a custom job.
Sorry I couldn't do any night pics Grinthock but thems the breaks.

Hey AusFiero, Y'aint got none that would fit an 84 dash have you? I'm playin' around with my spare dash some now and would try one of those out if you had one that would fit that earlier dash style. The ones you put up look awfully nice to me.

I think their is for the grand vitara. Post me a pic of the gauge panel and I will check it against our local one. Come to think of it, my wife wanted a grand vitara. Was a really nice black limited edition one and it had white face gauges. I am pretty sure there is aftermarket ones though. They are a pretty popular car here.

Red faces with white backlighting also looks pretty cool.

AusFiero--Are these for the backlit gauges or the reflector gauges? If these are for the backlit gauges, I'm in. I don't think it would cost too much to have these made. ($30, maybe??) If I can find my spare 120 mph speedo, I'll take the required pic and email it to you. Any certain size, format, etc????

Thanks monkeyman. They are the backlit ones. For the pic a straight on image out of the gauge cluster. Any format will do but JPG is easiest. Make it as high resolution as possible. Dont worry about the image size if it is huge, bigger the better.
And you was right about the printing costs. I made mine at home first then thought hmmm a pro has better gear again so I went to a sign manufacturer and paid AU$60 or about US$32 to get them printed. The better result was worth the money, as the sections they print as the blackouts really do the job well. For about double that they can screen print them on lexen sheets using multilayer screens and they would look like a part bought from GM.
Just putting this back on top. I would get you a picture, Aus, but I don't have a 120 mph speedo. Come on people, someone has to have to be able to get a pic to Aus!

I have the face of a 120 mph speedo. And If you can make me the white faces in the factory red Ill get the speedo up asap. I have the Supersport white faces. and they are ok. But not the best. I like the white face look though. I dont have a printer to do such guages so I would apreciate it if anyone can do the gauges for me in the factory red color.
Hey what happened to this topic, guys. Doesn't anyone have a 120 mph speedo face they can take a picture of? I figured more of you guys would be interested in this.
Hey Aus, I have another question. Have you found a way to change the orange in the a/c controls? I've messed with it some and it looks like a whole new face is gonna have to be made. That orange stuff is painted on.

Oops! Sorry Sqoach, I've got a 120 speedo just sitting on my desk right now. -just haven't been reading the forum. I'll post a pic on Friday. Hey! Why isn't there a "u" after the q in sqoach?

Well maybe it pays to look closer at my own gauge face sometimes. I just looked at the old one and it has the MPH on the inside of the dial. Positions of stuff was all I needed.
Will get one underway soon.

Heres the 120 MPH speedo face. More styles and colours to come soon.
And to answer a question sqoach. The heater control panel isn't easy to change short of scraping off the paint and sticking on a replacement printed on clear film with the correct back light colour.
I decided against it as my stereo lights are mostly green with some orange feature lights. Allowed me to leave the control panel orange without looking out of place.

Hey Bam-Bam You have mail. Don't know whats wrong with my main addy. anything@jadeweb.com.au should work. Try the addy I sent you. If it don't work I got problems big time as the ISP is closed till Monday.
Yeah, I tried to scrape that paint stuff of on a spare I had. Didn't come out the greatest. You'd have to be perfect scraping it off. And be extremely patient. Oh well, I guess I can just leave it orange.
