About this time last year, I took about 10 days off for like a vacation.
Everybody thought I had died or something.
So be informed, this Friday 6-1-01, I'm leaving for the weekend show at the Dells. I'll be returning home Sunday afternoon. MONDAY morning early, The wife and I are flying out to Seattle for a little Vacation. I will be back in the shop by 6-11-01.
I should be up to date on shipping before I leave and because I can't stand to leave you guys and gals all alone for too long, I'll be taking my laptop along.
So, until 6-1-01 and after 6-10-01 you can get me at the shop 1-800-891-3608.

I hope you enjoy it Archie. Seattle is my home...I wish I could be there year round but school and work won't let me Hope for sun, because when it's sunny there it is the most beautiful area; when it rains it is pretty dreary.
Do you already have plans on what to do? If not, I may have some recommendations.

While you're in Seattle, stop by in Port Angeles and install a V8 in my 85, you do need to write off the trip don't you?

Well, there's some really great places...let me think. It really depends on what you like...city or country?
One of my favorite places is Fort Casey on Whidbey Island, in the far northwest region. It is a base built in the 1900's to be a defense against an attack from the west; there are a lot of bases built in concrete, dug into the hills. There are also some really cool artillery cannons that are built on a cantilever system, high tech back in the day. It's a state park, and very well kept, lots of grassy fields, hiking, beach, and nice towns around it. Oh, and another cool thing is taking the ferry to get onto the island (rather than driving all the way to the north side of the island)...the ferry is scenic, and you get as much fresh ocean air as you want. WA State Park Fort Casey Website
Ok, that's the country/nature cool thing to do. As far as the city goes, Seattle is a great city to tour. There's all the stores and restaurants down by the Pier, you can't go wrong. Depending on how much you want to spend, there're some awesome restaurants. Obviously, the space needle is cool (rotates slowly to give you a total panoramic view, great seafood) but it's about 50 bucks/person. Anthony's is down on the pier, with even better seafood, great view, about 30 bucks a person. If you want cheaper, find a Red Robin in the phone book. Decent prices, awesome burgers and shakes, about 10-15 bucks each. These all figure in a drink or two.
It's hard to say what you should go see...it all depends. There's an awesome arcade (full indy style 8 person races), the science center is cool, the aquarium is alright, the woodland park zoo, flight museum, tons of stores downtown (fun to cruise the Monorail to get around), drive over the floating bridge...you know...all kinds of city stuff. A pretty good website for stuff like this is seattleinsider.com.
Hope some of this helps; I don't know much of the Oregon coast area, but I have heard that Portland is just as nice a town as Seattle. If you want to know more about anything I mentioned, or if you had somewhere in mind but wanted to know more, just make a post or whatever.
Alright, enough chit-chat....million dollar question Archie... What kind of rental car are you getting?
