I broke a swine-fornicating HEAD BOLT! Middle one on the exhaust side of my ’85 Duke. I assume the head is stuck on the remaining 9/10ths of the bolt, because the head doesn’t even wiggle under the influence of a 3-lb copper hammer and a crowbar. (Yes, the other 9 bolts are out.) The bolt stub is now soaking in penetrating oil to loosen its coat of black crud (looks like exhaust deposit.) If I ever get the coprophagic cylinder head off, I hope I can remove the broken bolt with a stud extractor.
AND I think it’s going to rain. (Of course I’m doing this in the back yard.) Looks like I’ll be taking the bus to work Monday.
The day began so nicely, too.
