Is Archie here?

I first saw the Finale quite a few years back when they first came out. What a great looking rebody for the Fiero. Now that they have been out a few years and we have the actual manufacturer in our midst, I was wondering how the big back window worked out? Any problems with overheating, fogging, fumes, etc?

I'd sure love to put one of these bodies on that old 84 back in the back yard, and a V8 conversion too!

Well you're in the right place then.

It's important to remember that, even though there is that big back window covering the engine compartment, the original Fiero rear window is retained. So there is no addtional fumes or noise in the passenger compartment.

There is no overheating problem, as you can see the addition of the rear hatch window just expands the engine compartment into a more open area.

There is plenty of venting at the top of the hatch frame and thru the vents in the Qtr. window area.

I can assure you that there is no fogging of the window and, in the winter, I'll bet the Frost/ice/show melts off as soon as I get the engine warmed up.

I call this picture "Chebby under Glass"

Is that Chebby included with the kit?

I notice an Isuzu strapped to that Chebby... any problems from it?

The V-8 is not included with the Finale kit, but I also have V-8 engine conversion kits where we can fix you up with and engine too.

Yes, this car has the 4 cyl. 5 speed transmission (Isuzu). I've used that transmission in about 70% of the cars I've built over the years and it has proven to be quite reliable. Right now I have 2 V-8 Fieros that I drive and they both have this transmission in them. The other car is an Yellow F-40 replica. This Red Finale here (with the Isuzu) is the same car I was doing the burn-outs with at Fierorama last month.

If I didn't think the transmission could take it I wouldn't be doing burn-outs in front of all the Fiero people that were at Fierorama.

haha..... It sure would be embarrassing to "Chuck" that transmission out right in front of everyone.

My next question is: How do you work on that thing? Guess you better make sure everything is running right before you put it together. Looks like one helluva reach to get to anything... Probably no worse than a regular fastback Fiero though...

It's really not too bad, it's just a little more reaching than a F-Back GT.

Notice the location of the Quarter windows, on this car they are permently mounted but from now on I'm going to mount them so that they can be removed for easy access.

Archie,

Do you have a cover for that engine compartment that can be used with the Finale. It would be a shame to give away the suprise of the kill by leaving that small block open for all to see.

A cover would also keep anything in the trunk from getting pretty dirty.

The Finale kit does come with an engine/trunk cover you can use.

I don't think there is going to be any "suprise of the kill" when you're driving around in a car that looks like this....

Anybody that comes up on the back of this real quick better be expecting to get blown away.

Indeed Archie that finale is one that those civics should never mess with, unless they really want to be smoked.

I'm planning on purchasing the fino kit in about 3 years and will be putting it on an 88 coupe. One question about the Fino's front turn signals... I read on the old Candy Apple Cars page that you required the front turn signals from a Ford Probe. Is this still true with the fino now that you own the fino? And if it is is it the first generation Probe or the 2nd Gen??

Thanks~!
