Okay, the guys on the facebook group have been very helpful but I am still undecided on how to go about installing an XP cam
What I would like to do is run the XP cam with the #105 springs and modded retainers that ZZP offers on their website. no double timing chain, just an OEM chain replacement or roller master single chain. I am probably not going to be spinning this thing out past 6000 all the time, if at all, as I am running the muncie 4 speed anyways.
what else do I need to install this cam? thanks guys
any parts that need to be modified to accept the XP cam so I don't end up with valve float or any leaking seals later down the road maybe? and yea gaskets, etc. i shouldn't need new injectors since i won't be running a pulley size small enough to cause them to static out

This is how I have been running the XP for 6 years..No issues..
i think just over 130,000km or 80,000 miles is on the engine. reason why I say hardened push rods is because it's been recommended due to cases of bent push rods, it would just be extra security. as for LS7 lifters, they are cheaper than the OE comp lifters offered on ZZP haha.
You will need to measure for the correct pushrod length. The X-P has a smaller base circle than stock, and LS7 lifters have a shallower cup. Stock pushrods may or may not work.
A scanner/ tuning software will be a requirement to get the most out of it.
Those or ls7 lifters will help with the dip, either way I'd be measuring for pushrods and ordering the right ones. I like the LS7 as they have been designed as a long life lifter for oem use, that is designed for 7000 rpm. They technically will drop in, without issue, but the proper preload will reduce the chances of pump up and resulting loss of top end power.
