Ok, I've been thinking about places to possibly mount an intercooler for a turbo set up and i think i might have an idea.
Mount one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uni...em2c6c9cbfa9&vxp=mtr
In this area under the lower quarter panel, New apron fabrication might be necessary for fitment and fuel filler needs rerouting.

I haven't looked at the car yet, just a potentially genius 3am idea, what do you guys think?

What's the reason for your choice of intercooler? The long flow style is easier to manage and is also rated for 600 hp.

That's the only one i could find that would be likely to fit in that location, although a long flow would probably work too, I'm just trying to be clever and take advantage of unused space for a clean install, I refuse to cut my trunk so finding a place to put an intercooler that's not too close to the exhaust is difficult.

If you've got the time and patience to make it work go for it, but the path most often traveled will be much easier. Modifications should be easily accessible for maintenance which is something to think about. It will be a clean install no matter where you put it if it's neatly done.

air to water is just too functional, cheap, small, reliable to get away from when your list of requirements is this specific.

The area on the other side of the sheet metal in your photo will barely fit an air filter. I don't think they make intercoolers small enough to fit and still be effective in that space. I placed a fairly large one of the same type as you linked to exactly where your arrows are pointing but inside the engine compartment.

Look behind your gas tank below the front exhaust manifild. That's where I'm putting mine.

How are you mounting the turbo without cutting the trunk? I used a Camaro intake to reposition the throttle body into the battery tray area.
