I'm looking to find other people's advice on which brand/type injectors are best for replacement in a stock '87 GT 2.8L.
Thanks for any and all help.

I find servicing the existing injectors - cleaning/flow testing - to be a good way to go
and, if you can find and extra injector or two to send in for cleaning & flow testing, you can pick the set of 6 with the closest flow

Try these guys for cleaning, rebuilding and flow matching. www.FuelInjectionConnection.Com They're also very familiar with the Fiero. They used to race them.

If you've an interest in brand-new injectors for your "stock '87 GT 2.8L", a good choice would be one set of six, Accel-brand, 15-pound injectors. Accel part number 150615 designates one set of six such injectors.

Two good sources for those brand-new injectors are Summit Racing ( http://www.summitracing.com ), and Jeg's High Performance Parts ( http://www.jegs.com ), each of which are large, U.S.-based, discount-oriented, mail-order houses with whom I've had several successful business dealings in the past.

Compared to OEM injectors, the price for a set of six 15-pound Accel injectors may seem "too good to be true", but that is only because GM's injector prices for the V-6 Fiero have been so high. I suggest not being concerned about the relatively low price of Accels; you should be fine with them. I say that because although I myself haven't used 15-pound Accel injectors, I have used Accel 17-pound injectors successfully for six years now, to feed my Fiero's 3.4L V-6 engine swap. Those injectors have worked just fine for me, so I think 15-pound Accel injectors should work just fine for you as well, given you'd mentioned having "a stock '87 GT 2.8L".

If you've an interest in used injectors that have been cleaned, an alternative other than those already mentioned by others is RC Engineering.

Whichever injectors you elect to use, good luck to you with your injector project.

Back in Sept. I picked up a used set of 17lb injectors from a local U pick em bone yard and have had no problems with them.
Used by Gm on V6 2.8-3.8 (2.8,3.0,3.1,3.3,3.4,3.8)1988-1995. the 17lb are easier to come by. Personally have never seen a 17lb go bad unless the owner puts a lot of trash in the tank.

Another thought on cleaning yours, is to call around to diesel shops, they may be able to clean/test your set. I had that done locally before.

Thanks for all the informative help. After consideration and not wanting to have to be bothered with that aspect of upkeep again, I've decided to go with one of the web catalog new ones.
