Hi guys, I am new to the forum. I have started a swap on my 87 gt using a 97 buick 3800 series 2 s/c. I have the torn the engine down and replaced all bearings and installed new rings so far to avoid issues with it once it's in the car. I am running a zzp vs cam and was planning to omit the balance shaft. Has anyone else done this? I have already tapped the oil passage to the balancer at the rear of the engine and installed a pipe thread plug with stud and bearing retainer. Another question...How do I get pics on here from my computer?

Most people when running a double roller timing chain leave the balance shaft in place and just remove the drive gear from it. I would ask on club GP to get more info on this. Dan

thanks Dan, that would have been the easy and smarter thing to do, but I have already removed the bushing from the rear of the block when i tore down the engine, so I won't be able to leave the balancer in unless i re-install a new bushing. It should be good to go though, as long as the oil passage is plugged off to the shaft. But i will do some more research, thanks!

thanks, Merry Christmas to you as well. I'm glad to finally be a part of the forum. I am excited and can't wait to drive my car when it's done! I have never even been for a ride in a fiero. I bought this one back in the summer knowing it needed work and have never even had it in gear. lol
