I would like to know as soon as possible if the 2.5 and 2.8 fuel pumps are the same. If they are this would save me a boat load of time in doing my buddies swap. Which i'm in the middle of right now lol wish me luck. Should be done by tomorrow.

Nope, the 2.8 needs 45psi or so, the 2.5 pump only puts out around 15psi.

I second that, the 2.8 pump is definitely different. You are gonna have to drop the tank and change it.

On the plus side though, you can check the sender to make sure It gives the right readings so the gas gauge will be right. I used this thread to make sure my sender was good when I did my fuel pump. I didn't try it out the fix though since mine was actually reading right.
