I would like to know as well. A dyno number would be best

I know this doesn't help, but I believe that it is a 20hp gain... And I think about the only mod that helps the 4.9L. I found one at the junkyard and decided to sell it instead of install it. I got some nice money for it since they are hard to find.

It should also be noted that the upper intake isn't any good without the lower intake, fuel rail, fuel injectors and a nice to have is the rockers...

A dyno number would be nice. But I don't need one. If I was doing a 4.9, I would insist on the Allante intake setup.

the 1990 4.5PFI engine is the same exact block as the allante 4.5 pfi, only the allante is rated at 20 more HP( 180 vs 200 ). the difference between them is the intake manifold, thats it.

I haven't dynoed mine, but the Allante intake made a difference I could feel. (I won't even use the words "butt dyno", however.)

Also, I might have been spoiled by my built up 3.4, but I never thought the stock 4.9 (at least mine) was that fast. Torquey, yes. But at the end of the day not that much faster.
It's a different story with the Allante intake. Made the car much more fun to drive.

Don't just take my word for it, though. There are several other 4.9/Allante folks here.

I may dyno it after I get it back together with the 5 speed. It's getting there.

Edit - The general consensus is a 20 HP gain. I would tend to agree with Stickpony's calculations.

I agree with Raydar. I have had an Allante intake on my 4.9, to me the 4.9/Allante just runs better. I haven't dyno'd mine since I put the Allante intake on her. I do need to do it some time soon, once I get these other projects done. There is also the WOW factor when you open the rear deck.

I didn't get to dig it out over the weekend. I'll be back where it is (at my parents' house) on Memorial Day weekend.

Christ, I really got to get my motor built this year. Been sitting on a stockpile of parts for 2 years now, including the Allante intake. I do need to locate a fuel pressure regulator though.

Pics of the setup:
I have upper, lower, full fuel rail, wiring and injectors, as well as a big bucket of bolts that came with it.

WTF, Cliff? Can I not post an image from my own damned webspace?
