i just installed a Pioneer c/d player in my '84 SE. the adapter harness i bought worked out great except it has a blue wire for the power antenna and i have no place left to connect it to on the original wires coming from under the dash. everything else on the harness connected as it should and it was just a plug and play. just had this blue wire marked "antenna" left over. what do i connect it to? thanks, Dutch
As your title suggests, it's the 12V power lead for the antenna relay if you have a power antenna. I suspect you don't have one so just tape up the end of the wire so it doesn't short out on anything, and you're good to go. If you do have a power antenna, just post back saying so and I or someone else can guide you on how to hook it up.

yes, i do have a power antenna. that's what puzzled me as to why there wasn't a connecter for it from the original harness. can i just connect to the stereo power on wire, so the antenna goes up when key is turned on and down when the key is off. thanks again, i'm sort of electrically challenged, i'm surprised the stereo worked after i installed it. the original didn't work, but i wanted a cd player anyway, but my concern was if all the speakers worked...they did!! I'm not sure I understand what you are proposing. But in any case, the blue wire comes from the stereo head unit and is powered up only when the head unit is turned on (on some stereos, the blue wire is only powered when the Radio function is selected). For you to be able to hook up your power antenna to this wire, your antenna must be an "automatic" one, meaning that you should only need to connect the one blue wire to it from the head unit and one to ground for it to work. When you turn on the head unit, the antenna automatically goes up, and it retracts when you turn the head unit off. Often, the automatic antenna wire is separate from the other connectors, so look around behind your head unit for the other half of the blue wire from your old stereo. When you took out whatever head unit you had in before you replaced it, you must've had to disconnect a blue wire running to your antenna relay if it was working before.
There's also a possibility that you have a "manual" electric antenna. If your antenna has a green and a red wire that you must connect to something, then it's a manual electric antenna that you cannot connect to head unit. You'll have to connect to a separate switch.

thanks Bloozberry, think i found the wire i need for the antenna. i checked the original oem stereo and see it has a single wire w/connecter that i had forgotten about, so assume it's the one i'm looking for. same as the blue on the new stereo now i'll have to find the other end from under the dash. You may just be looking for a loose wire under there, with no connector. I've never heard of a Fiero with a power antenna from the factory, I believe its an add on someone spliced in somewhere.
