Can you use standard 2.8 exhaust manifold gaskets on a Fiero v6? The Fiero gaskets are different, why? The standard v6 are for the cast iron manifold but look like they'd seal better. I have 2 sets of FelPro Fiero gaskets and they have to be bent inward to fit. Apparently they're all like that, why is that? If you lay them on the manifold they appear too long.

I believe the Felpro won't burn out as easy and are designed for the stainless steel manifolds and the potential for movement.... I wouldn't trust anything else, as it is a pain to replace them

Yes, there are two different gaskets for the V-6 engine with the Fiero gaskets being the thicker and stronger of the two in order to handle the heat. I do not know why yours are too long though.

Good move on the VW gasket. I went this route last winter and they are inexpensive and easy to change should the time come.

No **** ??? I have like a dozen of those... and have a Type-2 VW Bus myself... hah, I don't know why I never thought to use those. Are they the same diameter? Dang... I'm going to use those. They certainly provide a much cleaner looking install too!
