dose anyone know if there is a build thread or information on a L47 v8 like things sutch as ... are the bell housing patterns the same? how similar is the block to a 4.9 liter .. the thing is i have one that i got for free out of a good running car and im thinking i need the purr of a v8 in my gt link to the wiki for the L47 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...Northstar_engine#L37

4.0 4.6 and 4.9 share the same bolt patern on the bell housing the 4.0 is a northstar with a shorter stroke

The 4.0 and 4.6 are not the same bolt pattern as the 4.9

Search "Northstar Swap"

All of the bell housing bolts line up except one, and there is a method of moving it.

Clearance needs to be provided for the 4.0/4.6 starter location.

Lots more, this is not an easy swap.
