Trying to help a local 1987 Fiero owner locate a headlight control module. He claims to be having a problem with the headlight motors not closing, otherwise they operate normally. Someone else has diagnosed it as being a faulty module. Before I give him this info, does anyone know if the info below is accurate?:

---
Headlight Control Modules: The headlights in the '87-88 Fiero are controled by an electronic module found beneath the left front fender behind the fender well. The module (part no. 16523917) was used on the following cars:

'97-04 Corvette
'87-89 Firebird
'86-89 Pontiac Sunbird
'86-89 Buick Skyhawk

An identical looking module (part no. 16525685) was used on the '90-94 Sunbird, '90-02 Firebird, '90-92 Olds Toronado/Trofeo and '90-92 Buick Reatta. That module will NOT interchange with the Fiero.
----

Thanks in advance,
Mike

The information is accurate. gmpartsdirect.com lists part no. 16523917 as the headlight control module for the 1987-88 Fiero. Their price is about $175 plus shipping.

My '87 Fiero currently has one of the Corvette modules in it. I paid around $40 for it (used) on eBay.

I've link this page in Gen 2 headlight motor in the Cave.
