I installed a factory performance sound today in my 85gt. Got it all back together turn my radio on(which is a newer pontiac delco radio) and absolutely nothing. It doesn't squeak, pop, chirp or anything. I can't figure out whats wrong with it. Also does anybody have a picture of the harness that plugs into the amp that i can reference to?

i just put a firebird monsoon cd radio in my 88gt. i puchaced a 20pin to12pin pig tale wiring from replacementradio.com...$29.00. you will get pigtail plus antenna adaptor.ask for fiero performance wiring instructions. they tell you to cut blue wire and tap into the red wire. this makes your subbox work. did mine and the speaker was bad. i just picked one up from Rodney Dickmam.com ..

The short story: the sub amp is fed with the + and - from each speaker. the correct harness will handle that. the power is the 2 pink wires to the sub amp, both must have 12v to them to turn on the amp. the head unit will not be able to supply that unless it was the stock radio, so you will need to either use the amp turn on line form the radio to pick a relay supply 12v to the amp, or simply hardwire the amp to a 12v swithc line form the fuse box.
For ref, I attached the oem wiring for the stock radio and sub amp, in case you want to wire it yourself or the original harness connector was cut off:

Below is an illustration of what I did.

You you need to 12V of power to the factory sub amplifier. The stock Fiero did just that. The method pictures below will only supply the voltage to the amp when radio and key is on.

I have a factory sub system, wiring adapter harness going from the older style radio
to use the newer delco cd radio.
I wanted get things set-up so the factory sub would turn on when the radio turns on.
So i installed a relay.This is what i did.
