Hello

Just wondering if the 7730 (EMC) will work with the T42 LS2 Transmission Computer (TCM)? Part Num. 24226863

The 7730 ECM won't work/communicate with ANY newer TCM, nor can it control any electronic transmission, period.

What are you wanting to do?

Boosting a 4.9. But using a electronic transmission

I know using a 4 or 5 speed would be easy. But the old left hip don't care much for pushing.
Using a older trans could happen But I have a fresh built 4T60E.
I really hate to, But I might end up getting a stand alone Transmission Computer. $$$$

After doing more reading/searching I'm not sure the T42 Would work anyways.
I just was going with what I had on hand all ready. Never happens that way for me

One of these years ,I may start a build tread. But a boosted 4.9 been done already.. I been taking pics.

Thxs Darth!!!

Have you ever thought of just using your 4.9 PCM as a stand-alone transmission computer? You should be able to. All it should need to operate is an RPM signal (IC reference from the module) and a throttle position sensor signal; perhaps even a MAP sensor signal. But all of these you can share with the 7730. You might also need to feed it a coolant temp sensor signal, and it would need to be hooked up to its own sensor since this cannot be shared with another ECM; but that shouldn't be a big deal. Everything else (besides the transmission sensors and controls; as well as powers and grounds) can be deleted from the 4.9 PCM's harness.

No, I didn't think of that. Me having a kind of a one track mined at times.. Thinking that the 4.9 PCM would not work ,with out engine hooked up along with the trans.

Hooking up a temp sensor would be the easy part.

Thxs again Darth.
