I had some one ask me about the 4.3 diesel but i dont know much about the engine if you can just pour the fuel and turbo it and make big power or is it a weak POS

I found this fiero diesel engine swap http://a350diesel.tripod.com/dieselfiero.html

They were around 85HP and 160 lb-ft of torque. I have a buddy that sold his 85 Ciera with 280k miles a few years back. It never gave him a lick of trouble and was still running great. Of course others know people that had their 4.3L die within 5 minutes of buying it. The opinions are all over the place.

I think they are fine if they are maintained (true for all diesels). You can't ignore them like a gas engine.

I found this on a pumped version.

It seems to me there are less smelly oily ways to get 200 hp. I've not been a fan of turbo'd diesels or can you tell?

Those Olds diesels just seem too "old" and fuddy duddy to be serious contenders to me, and I drive an Olds. But, it could be an interesting project if the price was right.

A friend of mine had a cutlass with one of these in it ran good till it died absolutly no power they were gutless turds. as for turboing one i don't thinkt the bottom end could handle that. i'd say forget it and i do like turbo disels, i have a dodge pickup with the cummins and its awesome. all the power in the world and great economy.

my 2 cents
