I had a mechanic replace the clutch and I have had shift issues. Upon close inspection this evening I find the shifter adjustment bolt is missing. Went to ace and bought a 9/16 and a similar metric bolt but neither fit. The mech is gone till next week hunting. Could any body tell me which bolt fits the shaft that goes up and down when you move shifter back and forth on a 84 Four speed

I don't know specifically in this case, but most all fasteners are metric on Fieros.

Try different thread pitches. It might be fine, or extra fine.

Usually at the hardware stores, well the crappy ones near me, there's only a limited selection of metric bolts, all in the standard coarse thread, and like grade 8.8.

Try an auto parts store instead, they're usually better for this kind of thing, even if they have to order it...
